Oh Sweet! The majority of the work is done for you here fellow coders
I hope this gets ported to PSP or NDS
Sweet!
Heres massive news to all our Homebrew Communities on DCEmu, the all time classic game Sim City has seen a source code release,
Digg This
Heres an excerpt from the News Source
This past holiday (I've been bugging him since November about it) my good friend Don Hopkins got a lot of work done on the finishing touches on releasing the original SimCity source code under the GNU General Public Library (GPL). The code won't have reference to any SimCity name as that has all be renamed to Micropolis. Micropolis was the original working title of the game and since EA requires that the GPL open source version not use the same name as SimCity (to protect their trademark) a little work had to be done to the code.
Download the Source Code Here, What is initially released under GPL is the Linux version based on TCL/Tk.
Any of the Homebrew Coders on Any Platforms at DCEmu interested in Porting Sim City to any Consoles ?

Hmm, SimCity... Never played the original... I only played SimCity2000 a little, but I got addicted to SimCity3000 (I even play it today!)
The original SimCity is really old. I hope one day the source code for SimCity2000 will be released and ported to the PSP or so (As this will take some years more likely to the PSP2 or PSP3 )
It'd be really interesting, but perhaps hard, to utilize the stylus for this. I reckon the game would be a great deal easier to play if you had it. Let's see what happens.
If i where a coder, i would certainly try to port this to psp !
Isn't porting this to the DS useless becauseof that official version ?
Sim City is awesome, I purchased Sim City Societies on Monday to add to my collection of Sim City titles. 19 years since Sim City was first released (in 1989) by Maxis and now a source code, I hope somebody does something good with it!
The official DS game did a pretty damn good job IMO. This would make a wonderful addition to both the PSP and GP2x.
