To my conclusion, it's a .gif with a renamed extension. I was playing around with animations and file extensions earlier, and I finally made this (below) which is a .gif but with a .jpg extension.

dejkirkby: What version of FF are you running? I'm on the latest and it saves as a .jpg without tacking .gif on the end.
Vampdude: The browser/image viewer is just looking at the header of the file rather than the extenstion, nothing new here really. I can give an image a .gif .jpeg .png .bmp or whatever extension, and acdsee will open it just fine. Photoshop seems to want the extension to be correct though.
Right click properties in FF doesn't tell you much other than the name and size.
MJPEG isn't MPEG4, its less advanced than MPEG1.
