Sega Inc. said Monday that it has broken ground on an expansion that will more than double its headquarters.

The new 32,600-square-foot building is to be done in July, the Overland Park-based engineering and technical services company said. The project budget is undisclosed.

Sega's expansion will accommodate growth that added 29 employees in 2007.

Two more buildings could be constructed on 12 acres where Sega moved into its current 27,800-square-foot building in 1996.

Sega ranks No. 7 on the Kansas City Business Journal's list of the Top Area Engineering Firms.
