Help with my Wii remotes

Ok so I have the remotes with the chargeable battery. When I go to play my Wii, no matter what button I press, all it does is flash the blue lights at the end of the remote for a few moments and then stops. I tried syncing them to no avail and both of my remotes are doing this. PLease help me

Try tapping the "A" button repeatedly when turning on the console, it might not work the first time but it will work after a few tries (it may take 3 tries).

I tried the clicking the A button repeatedly thing quite a few times and my remote still refuses to work. It flashes for a few seconds then stops. I tried replacing the batteries and nothing has changed. It seems to happen to the second remote that I have because I had to replace the that came with my wii for the same reason, and the other remote I bought still works fine. The one that I replaced the broken one with is the one that is being retarded. If that makes any sense. Any suggestions?
