good news
PS3 installed base in PAL territories will eclipse Microsoft's Xbox 360 by the end of the summer, Sony has claimed.
"In terms of installed base in some of our major markets, such as France, Spain, Germany, Italy, plus some distributor territories in smaller markets like Switzerland, our current $#@!ulative installed base is now higher than that of the Xbox 360, " said Reeves. But what of PAL territories as a whole?
According to Reeves Sony expects "to overtake installed base of Xbox 360 across PAL territories in late summer." To add some weight to Sony's belief, Reeves added that "last week we outsold Xbox 360 in PAL territories by a ratio of 3:1."

Ya, I've been doing some tracking of my own. Every few days the PS3 gains 0.1 per cent on the competition.
I doubt it, unless they lower the price of the console and ship more units.
thats the plan VampDude
Wont happen.

Does anyone have, any actual, numbers for the PS3 and 360 sales in the PAL territories?
As well, Sony said that "In terms of installed base in some of our major markets, such as France, Spain, Germany, Italy, plus some distributor territories in smaller markets like Switzerland, our current $#@!ulative installed base is now higher than that of the Xbox 360"
That means they are already above the 360 in those countries. So if their evidence (where is it I ask...) is accurate, is it so hard to swallow that they could overtake the 360 in all of Europe?
This is quite a load. I don't doubt the PS3 will rise sooner or later, but The 360 still has an insane fanbase in Europe, whereas even the Wii has slightly above or equal a fanbase in Europe .
No chicken counting before the eggs, mmmkay Sony?
Miniviews:
Spoiler!
The PS3 has quite a fanbase here you know too.
Admittedly the 360 fanbase is far more vast, but the ps3 isnt failing quite as much as people say.
