GSC Game World's graced us with a fresh look at S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky this morning courtesy of 13 new screenshots from the game.

The images are accompanied by news that the prequel to Shadow of Chernobyl will release via Steam simultaneously with its retail touchdown.

Currently the only date given for the game is that it'll be out "later this year".

Clear Sky, if you've not been following it, is set a year prior to events depicted in Shadow of Chernobyl.

(Potential spoilers ahead...)

"The story of Clear Sky will explain what happened to Strelok during his early escapades into the Zone and at the same time present an alternative look at events of the original game", GSC project manager Anton Bolshakov has explained previously.

"You will play a different character this time, a mercenary s.t.a.l.k.e.r. who, against his will becomes involved in global events in the Zone. Eventually, the player will have to not only keep an eye on Strelok's doings but actually oppose him.

"Without disclosing much, I'd say the end of the Clear Sky story will bring you to what SoC begins with."

(Potential spoilers end...)
