Default Auto Calculate Routes with mapthis?

i just set up geodata it was easy.. anyway. i can look up an address and pinpoint were it is.. now is it possible to make a map with no names of roads on it, layer in possubly a file that contains the names of roads and cords, ex.( were every turn is, it would need to calculate every turn somehow.) and a route calculater programed into mapthis? so if u get gps signal.. it will calculate were u are right there to your destionation point...

This isn't possible yet (this question has been asked really a lot btw.), but I think Deniska is still working on vector data. Perhaps when that works well, a shortest path algorithm can be built in to give directions from point A to B.

Until then, you can use GMDL or http://getroute.nieko.net/.

I know this is updating an old thread... But if wifi access works ok for downloading maps, how hard would it be to program in the functionality of http://getroute.nieko.net/ into mapthis?

I mean it would just connect to wifi, send start and end, and receive route file. Doesn't sound too hard...

Still not as awesome as actual route planning would be, but this would get half of the way there... if you have wifi access wherever you are...
