Considering how these douchebag Gestapo types are trying to make a name for themselves busting modders, the guy would probably have been better off stashing child pornography in the consoles instead of cash.![]()

ELSPA investigators have discovered consoles stashed full of cash in the home of an industrious illegal chipper - not, in this case, someone unlawfully happy.
The bloke in question, a resident of Tower Hamlets, had secreted an impressive £12,210 inside a hollowed-out Xbox 1 and PS2s.
Unsurprisingly the fat-boy Xbox - probably now the only one in existence used for something other than a toe-stubbing doorstop - won the cash-stash hands down, with £5,925 apparently where the hard drive would normally be.
Just as well he didn't stick it in an Xbox 360. It would have probably caught fire.
As well as illegally chipping Xboxs and PS2s, the man was selling PSP games on SD memory card. Naughty.
"I've heard it all now", beamed Michael Rawlinson, managing director of ELSPA. "It never ceases to amaze ELSPA and its investigators the lengths criminals go to make money - and always to the detriment of honest, hard working businesses. I congratulate Tower Hamlets Trading Standards on bringing to an end this illegal business operation."

Is it me or is that Xbox a crystal version. If it is what's the point of hiding it in it anyway.
that's a good deal of cash, but that's not a good hideout for it, is what the thieves take first
Why stash it away in a Xbox anyway?
Xbox Money Guy's son: Dad, can I go to the movies?
Xbox Money Guy: Sure! Just go get a Torx-20, remove the hard drive/bay, and grab yourself $8
Two things trouble me with the artice:
Selling PSP games on SD card? Memory stick would make sense, DVD-R would make sense, but SD card?
'fat-boy Xbox - probably now the only one in existence used for something other than a toe-stubbing doorstop'.
Am I misinterpreting that or is that an insult to the best (IMO) console for emulation around? I know at least 4 people with xboxs that get used regularly for XBMC and emus.
I have 2 xboxes that I use nearly every day as media centre and emulation, hooked up to my hdtv in 720p
whoever said that the original xboxes are no longer used is completely clueless as to how many of these things are still going, and will do for some time!
