wow that's a lot, the gaming market was good last year
Consumers spent nearly ten billion dollars on videogame software last year, according to data from the NPD Group and the Entertainment Software Association. The bulk of that was on console games, which saw $6.6 billion in sales. Handheld software saw $2 billion, while PC games trailed with $0.9 billion.
This data represents U.S. software sales and does not include hardware numbers.

It just goes to show how big the gaming industry is, there were a few good games in 2007.
In 2007, I think I payed maybe $40 for a used Xbox and modding equipment, and $20 on a used copy of Final Fantasy VIII xD
i got ez5 ps3 and mods ds etc. spent about 500 or so...games are too expensive now.
I brought my ps3 and about 8 games. I also brought a Wii and 360 but ended up selling those. Recently brought a used DC.
I spend quite abit.
