PSP hombrew killing the PSP?

Hombrew and emulators i think can cause some seroius harm to the psp, cause when i started hombrew with my gig card, i filled it up with stuff in all of the psp catagories, (pic's, mp3' vids' hombrew' est.) but now every once a while my psp just goes blank with a tant spec of light causing me to hold the on/off botton up for a couple of sec's and/or to remove the battery. if anyone else has this problem and can explain why, plz tell me cause, i dotn want to buy a 3rd psp...

i use one for hombre the second for firm ware, but if i lose my hombrew one, i got to go to like ebay to buy a 1.5 or mybe a eb games in da middle of nowhere to get it.
