PMP is better contender (i donw know if this word is spelled like this) ... i mean "contenedor" in spanish, than MP4 at least in PSP

The maximun resolution of MP4 is 720x480 and PMP is 720x512

PMP Player can show videos up to 38 fPS in 120.120 MHZ ... MP4 cant handle up to 30 FPS in 266 MHZ

The MP4 player of Sony works in 266 Mhz by default ... PMP Player Advanced can work in 66 (YES, 66) MHZ with normal bitrate (700-800) perfectly

PMP can handle "UMD quality", this means MPEG4 AVC Level 3 (H.264 720x480) and AAC audio instead of ATRACT3 (atract3 only compress better but it has lower quality)

As you can see PMP KICK ASS MP4 in PSP. MP4 is great for PS3, XBOX360, IPODS and else but no in PSP

Anyway PSP is still one of the best portable video player ever exist and it can handle Stage6 !!! (iPHONE OWNED!!! xDD)

If i have a 700 megs avi file, how big would it be roughly on PMP format with good settings?

Would someone be able to tell me what are the best settings to convert for video? I just want a good picture like im watching tv... no need for HD or anything crazy unless its a kick ass movie (which i would rather watch on a big screen anyway :P)

Has anyone else had an issue with this version or the October version where you have a file that works perfect on an older version, but does not play in a newer version? This has gone across different firmwares, etc. Essentially it acts like the file will play, and then drops back to the menu.

Also, what format should I use for subtitles? I have a file in SRT format, and PMP recognizes it by showing up in the menu, but they don't show in the movie, even when I use the hotkeys for them.

I have the same issue with the subtitles.

Why Don't you post your issues on the google code page?

I have redownload this version (20081229) directly from cngba.
    And now my subtitles worked.

I think my problem is that I downloaded a wrong version.

I downloaded the one that didn't include the chinese Font.
