What the hell is go messenger anyways? Is it AIM or MSN or is it totally separate?

Go!Messenger's for the UK. I personally would rather have Skype, as there's noone I know with a PSP worth calling.

**** knows, it would seem that, but I dunno if you need a BT subscription. Also I've just read it's for Europe, not just the UK. At the moment I think Go!Messenger's just an icon.

Ok, well my ass is in Canada so I just tried faking the region in recovery and now I have the gomessenger icon so when I get to a wifi environment i'll try it... has anybody tried this yet?

Would be such a kick in the nuts for Sony if someone did get it to work!

Adding to this, is anyone trying to hack the firmware to try to get this to work on a Phat psp (avec socom headphones?)

I like it honestly. I don't use irShell so it's a perfect firmware. My PS1 games seem to be running smoother than on 3.80 too.

The official reason was the lack of free memory on phat. But if it can run Go!Messenger, I don't see why we didn't just get an inferior Skype. One which could call other Skype users/mobiles/landlines, but couldn't handle incoming calls, unless you've launched the Skype option (which forced you to exit the XMB and into the Skype app). From what I've read, Skype on the Slim isn't all that ideal, since your PSP has to be on, and if you're not near a wireless connection (which is quite difficult here) you're ****ed, so you'd probably have to arrange it anyway, meaning it wouldn't be all that different. Then again, I could be talking out my arse, as I'm a mere spectator in this PSP scene, who couldn't develop a sausage.

Furikup's basically a Skype for phat, but it's still in the very early stages, and hasn't really got much of a UI yet.
