Hello Guys,
I just bought a new slim PSP with an original 3.9 firmware (actually they updated the firmware at the shop), but i want to install this new custom firmware by Dark_Alex, so i downloaded the file and followed the instructions, but still i get an error "the game could not be started. (80020148)", so pleaase can someone show me how to install this new custom firmware step by step, or just point me to a good article that explains this.
Thanks a lot.
You need to downgrade and then get a custom firmware, that's how it works. Go to Dark Alex's site and look up Despertar del Cementerio. Honestly I could help you more but I'm just so tired of this whole routine, just the same questions and same issues over and over.......
anyone found a way of getting to 3.90x with a idstorage keys messed up psp yet?
running the sony updater code gives the cta errors as expected.
only upgrade is to 3.80 using dc & pandora
definitely looking forward to the time machine...
(would be nice if we can run both firmwares from flash through perhaps holding down a button or a recovery mode setting though...after all slims have more flash space if i rmbr correctly)
Another awsome release from the PSP God...

The king did it again! Thanks you did a real nice job for the PSP scene
I'm a very happy camper right now. Dark_AleX (www.dark-alex.org) just released V2 of an fatmsmod.prx patcher which replaces the annoying 3.80/3.90 version causing slowdowns, choppiness, and lag. Most notably when playing .CSO game backups.
Well, I just did a before and after test on my original style PSP and I'm happy to say that after applying the patch, the memory stick lag issues seem to be resolved.
I have been holding off updating my Slim PSP but now I'm convinced that 3.90 M33-2 with the 3.71 fatmsmod.prx patch is the best CFW. This deserves donations!
