New NPD figures reported by MarketWatch have revealed PlayStation 3 outsold in Xbox 360 in the US last month, with 269,000 Sony machines shifted compared to 230,000 MS consoles.
Nintendo is still sitting on thebiggest pile of gold though; Americans snapped up 274,000 Wiis in January. The DS beat the PSP, too, with 251,000 units sold versus 230,000 for Sony's handheld.
Microsoft said the lower Xbox 360 sales were due to temporary stock shortages. The company assured shopkeepers it is working hard to churn out more consoles as fast as possible.
Call of Duty 4 was the best-selling game of the month, with 330,000 copies shifted. Wii Play came in second, followed by Guitar Hero III for Wii and Rock Band for Xbox 360. Other top sellers included Super Mario Galaxy, Burnout Paradise and Mario Party DS.
I believe Microsoft. PS3 plainly sux.
I know a lot of people that bought PS3 only as a cheap Blu-Ray reader.
mohaha!
all of you are OWNED by Nintendo!
EDIT: Yeah sony and ps3 sucks though..
you got one part right. sony sucks. not ps3![]()
How can you hate a game system? When someone says they hate a system or a company, it is most likely because they are a fanboy, like sappo and anders. Sterist is right though, PS3 is good but some of the things that Sony does are a bit annoying.
I have a PS3 and a Wii, and have played a 360, yet my favorite is still PS3. I like the interface more than the other two because of how organized and easily accessible it is.
Plus, it is the only of the consoles that is capable of playing high definition (disc based) video without buying another separate expansion.
And I also do believe that a PS3 is the best way to get yourself a Blu-ray reader.
I would rather a ps3 than a 360 with all the problems it has but I wouldnt pay £300 for a console its just stupid and not worth it would rather put the £300 to pc upgrades as it will do more. but the simple fact as said above bay saying you activly dislike something you are most likly a fan boy pluss ms are going to be going to sony soon if toshiba drops hd-dvd as if ms wants to keep hd movies on the 360 they will need blueray from sony.
well you could just tell the outcome from the compnay support for each fomat
HD-DVD had like 2 big companies and a bunch of little small ones
Blu-Ray had bascially everything
tons of stores dropped HD-DVD from their shelves to make room for blu-ray (kinda like umd video...)
