Default Ok, now what do I need to do?

Using medion's guide he gave me, I have finally managed to create a magic memory stick! But I STILL DON'T HAVE THE FING BATTERY FROM THAT AMAZON DUDE GRRRRRR!!!!!!!! So, using his guide found here

    http://www.pspmod.com/forums/psp-har...ew-method.html

It says that once I do everything I will have the m33 3.71. Well, now that I'm as far as I can go w/out the battery...

    1. Once I get that firmware can I download and use 3.80? Do I need to use the release version first, then follow what the readme says so I can install the -5 update? Do I need to go in order or can I jump straight from the release to 3.80-5?

    2. What the hell is with this "1.50 kernel" thing I keep hearing about! Does it have anything to do with slim PSP and my ability to emulate on it!?!?!?!!

    3. Finally, all I need is just at this point is too (my in famous steps)

    1. Insert magic memory stick and Pandora's Battery.

    2. Turn on PSP.

    3. Follow instructions on the Pandora menu.

    4. Finally have 3.71 m33 on my PSP.

    5. Download release and update 5 of firmware 3.80 m33.

    6. put m33 380 release UPDATE folder in PSP GAMES folder.

    7. Download official 3.80 FW and rename to 3.80.PBP and put in same folder.

    8. Run PSP and go to the mem stick with just a regular battery (?) and run the 3.80 installer from the actual PSP game folder (NOT the one on the computer, the one on the ACTUAL PSP it self).

    9. FINALLY put the update file in the PSP games folder and run that like the step #8 to install 3.80-5 m33

NOW is THIS the correct steps!!!!! Will I FINALLY be able to play emulators on my PSP??? PLZ respond ASAP!!!!

Run each update, cant hurt, to bring you up to m5
    I prefer 3.71 for now.
After your on 3.71M33 I recommend that you create and use Cemetary4 and go strait to 3.80M33 if you want.
There are just too many little problems with 3.80 and 3.90
3.80 and 3.90 require some extra TLC to get working 100%
It would be nice to see a 3.90 Patch with all the little fixes included.

Also remember that one of the best features of Pandora is the ability to DUMP the current firmware version of your PSP to the MS
Do this to create multiple images of firmware versions for your PSP.
Just remember to copy each NAND image into its own folder on your PC.
Dumping the NAND automatically overwrites the previous image on the MS.
If something goes wrong or you dont like the newest firmware,
copy a previously dumped NAND image back to your MS and flash it to the PSP using Pandora.
The Dump of the NAND of your PSP is unique to your PSP and cannot be used on any other PSP.

Yes, its does effect you as a slim owner.
You'll have to run Emus that have been recoded to not use the 1.50 core thats been at the heart of the scene for such a long time.
This is exactly the reason why DA's Time Machine is so cool.

    3. Finally, all I need is just at this point is too (my in famous steps)

    Yes, those steps look good.
Although I would run all 4 updates. release+4updates=m5
You will need a regular battery
or modify your pandora memory stick to use the pandora battery as a normal one
or convert you pandora battery back to a normal battery. (not recommended for recovery reasons)
A Datel battery cannot be used a regular battery or converted to a regular battery

No, the Slim will always require the use of EMU's written specifically for the SLIM unless you want to try and use something like DA's time machine.
Once your at 3.71M33 you are golden for Slim ready EMU's
The only reasons to upgrade beyond that point maybe
because you have a UMD game that requires a higher firmware or their is a new firmware feature that you want to use.

Almost all CFW and Homebrew at one point ran using parts of the 1.50 core firmware.
1.50 firmware does not run on SLIM psp's.
When the SLIM was released DA had to redesign his CFW to work without using parts of the 1.50 core.
This also meant that all homebrew that used the 1.50 core would no longer work.
For backward homebrew compatibility reasons he created the 1.50 plug-in for PHAT PSP's
Homebrew for SLIM's must be re-written without using calls to the 1.50 firmware.
Again this is why DA's TimeMachine is so amazing.

You can try using one the unofficial kai versions for the slim:
    Gameboy Advance
I have read that the "Unofficial gpSP Kai v3.2 Test 8.7" works fairly well.

Someone plz respond and give me other emu's if these don't work please
This looks like a good list to start:

    They're not illegal.

Their author has just gone about making his modifications in a rather rude/disrespectful way.
He changes large parts of code (with japanese comments or none at all) for little or no benefit and doesn't discuss any of those changes with Exophase (the original author).
That makes it really hard/annoying for him to try to find what is actually changed and if it is actually beneficial.

Also, most of the changes that are of actual benefit are actually Exophases code from his port of gpSP to the GP2X that takka has brought into the PSP version. Again without talking to him about it.

It's GPL code so as long as takka releases the source it's legal, he just doesn't show much if any respect for the guy who designed and wrote the amazing emu he is slightly modifying.

    They are not illegal.
They are the reason why exophase no longer releases updates.
You asked and I answered by giving you a list of all gpsp emulator versions available for download.
I had read that one of the unofficial kia versions was working on the SLIM.
Thats what you wanted to know.
You are free to try any of the other official versions listed.
The PSP Slim Homebrew COMPATABILITY List should help you in your quest to find working emulators for your SLIM.

Ugh, I didn't mean to sound ingrateful if that's what you thought. I just thought I was using a bad version or something but thank you for your help.
