    Default Arcade emulators?

Is it possible to emulate arcade games on the PSP? Also, for other ROMs, do I need to put them in a manually made GAME150 folder (plz explain why) or can I just put them in the ROMs folder that comes with the emulators?

In case you don't know: dir = directory = folder.

There are several versions of MAME (Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator), but none run recent games, only pretty old ones.

ROMs for other emulators normally go straight inside the emulators dir (which itself gets copied to X:\PSP\GAME or X:\PSP\GAME150 - X being the drive letter of the Memory stick when connected to your PC), or you can make a folder called ROMS inside the emulators folder and put them there.

Almost all emulators allow you to browse to anywhere on the memory stick to find the ROMs. It's just quicker and neater to put them inside the same directory as the emulator, or a directory inside it (sub-directory) which you can name ROMs or anything you want.
Most emulators will save the last-used directory so it will go straight there next time you use it. Some may always go back to looking inside their own folder, so putting the ROMs in there or a sub-directory would be quickest to browse to.

    Yes,
Capcom System 1 and 2 really rock

    CPS1PSP ver.2.2.5 for PSP slim
Note: you actually have to run either CPS2PSP 1 and 2 once to create the ROM (and other folders)

    MAME PSP

    MAME PSP SLIM 1

    MAME PSP SLIM 2

You need to put them in the GAME150 folder
And make sure the Kernel in the Recovery menu is set to whatever custom firmware you are on.
(this should be set correctly by default)

You'll need to read the README.TXT that comes with each emu to be sure where you can put your ROMS
Generally you'll use a folder called ROMs inside the emu's program folder.
Like BAH says though most emu's will let you browse the folders on your PSP.

The GAME150 folder is used to launch programs like emulators that make calls to the 150 core firmware.

Custom firmware used to be made up of both the 150 firmware and the newest official firmware.
This is why you had to have both PBP's on the memory stick to upgrade.
The upgrader would use a combination of both firmwares to create the custom firmware for your PSP.

When 3.71 hit and the SLIM was released there was a massive change in the way DA designed his CFW.
He dropped the 150 core all together.
    This accomplished several things.
It streamlined and stabilized the CFW creation and installation process.
And it supported the SLIM PSP at the same time.
The PSP Slim was designed specifically not to run the 150 firmware...
an attempt by Sony to thwart custom firmware and homebrew creation

He later added the 150 core plug-in for PHAT PSP's,
so that homebrew that made 150 specific firmware calls would still work.

Sweet! The only arcade games I wanna emulate are really old ones any way

    X-Men the arcade game

    Simpsons the arcade game

    Sunset riders

Teenage mutant ninja turtles the arcade game

Teenage mutant ninja turtles: turtles in time

Also good news! My battery FINALLY got delivered to my house! Unfortunately I wasn't there to sign for the package so now I gotta wait another couple of days for it.....DOH! Also, when I try to hold down the right shoulder button when I turn my PSP on, the recovery menu doesn't appear....

EDIT: Damn...no support for any of those except TMNT. Looks like I'm going to have to wait for a later version.
