wah, I just bought my psp. Man this might be really expensive. Just going to wait and see what it does until I decide to purchase this or not.
then i would say you are below average in the homebrew scene... GP32 and Dreamcast were kings of the homebrew scene and as far as i am concearned, still are.Originally Posted by dman32

DO NOT ARGUE WITH THE 1TIMEUSER.

If it's powerfull and has an open OS, meaning lotas of homebrew, I may be interested,. It looks cool in a bat-man gadget kind of way. Looks maybe a little too big, but if it's price range is right. I'll consider it.
did it sell at least 2 million? I dont think so....and i know you may think that homebrew is its on planet but for the average user...they dont know what homebrew is and probably could care less. I could go to work tomorrow ask 20 people and I guarantee nobody ever heard of it.
I wouldn't be suprised if it did beat the PSP, but it wouldn't beat it by too much. Remember how much better the GP32 was than the GBA.
ok now that I have looked at the gp32...which I never heard of and most non homebrew emulator people have never heard...all I can say is wow. If this new GPX is like the gp32 but with a better screen and with all the emulator support...I'd get one in a heartbeat. Then I'd just have my psp for the sony games...
Does anybody know if this is gonna be backwards compatible with the older gp32 stuff? If it is, its allready got a real comfortible nitch to fall back on.
Being as I figure it will be completely open source, I suppose it will![]()
Yeah, Im so haveing one of those![]()
Defenatly gonna get one of this. >200$ and I will get it the day it's released. This makes me almost not care if, god forbid, sony completely shut down any attempts at homebrew w/out mods. I wouldn't mind having one handheld for uber graphics and one for homebrew.
For those arguing about how popular/well it will sell need to get over it, because of course this thing wont challenge PSP for the market share, but it will defenatly sell to those into homebrew/power users. Any arguement about Gameparks plans for the future can be solved through the companies history. They're not out to dominate markets; they're out to make money, and by making a product for a specific market (the homebrew/power user market) they'll make enough money to warrent the manufacturing of that product. It's a completely different business for Gamepark.
I don't see why they wouldn't make it backward compatable, that would kill their progress as far as software. Look at the difference in performance between 222 and 333 mhz on psp with the same emulator, imagen taking all the emu's from gamepark and add in a bunch of higher specs. This thing has me really pumped..

Meh, it’ll sell well enough, but not enough to make Sony worry...
I would buy one if it was like a transformer, and it could turn into a massive robot... which it probably can’t even with with how well designed it looks, but if they add that as a feature I probably wouldn't even consider getting a PSP.
Homebrew is nice, but Giant Robots are like twenty times better..
The PSP would have trouble marketing against a hand-held homebrew/giant robot..
HOPEFULLY this one wont have to use smartcards to run, maybe they will shift to a memory stick like psp or possibly something better (which I have no idea what...maybe internal harddrive?). I hope this one will be able to emulate PSX too XD...now that would be something...maybe even N64 or Dreamcast hahahah XD. Blah am I just dreaming?
