Brawl for Europe - autumn at the earliest

Nintendo of American president Reggie Fils-Aime has said that Super Smash Bros. Brawl will not be coming to Europe until the Autumn.

Speaking to 1UP, Reggie answered a question regarding why Wii Fit and Mario Kart was coming to Europe first by saying, "Yeah, but they don't get Smash Brothers until fall."

Reggie cited the reason as a production problem, claiming that Nintendo would have to open and convert new factories in order to step up disc duplication, which would no doubt prove costly and wasteful in the long run.

Sorry Europe - looks like you'll (we'll) have to be content with Mario Kart for the time being.


A total letdown for folks in the UK and Europe wanting to get this game.

(It was bad when we thought it was June!)

This is the biggest dissapointment since Gran Turismo 4.

EDIT: I bet if it was Sony or Microsoft, they would be better prepared

Sometimes I think Nintendo only treat us UK gamers as a second rate market..
90% of the time they get something first, and we have to wait ages. (Metroid Prime pinball is probably the best example of a late game, it took almost a whole year to release it here!)

This is just as bad as the wii shortages they had.
I hope nintendo sort these production problems fast, as its really ticking me off!

How can NoA say we are getting it in fall, when all NoE can do is deny the rumored release dates (didn't Reggie also say America would be getting it before christmas?)

i'm seriously considering buying the wii-clip and a d2ckey or d2cpro chip and import the game from usa..

although i've never heard of IC2005.com (where the wii-clip is sold) but it looks good, atleast there is free shipping (hopefully worldwide), anyone bought and tried the wii-clip??

Sadly this sort of thing only encourages homebrew. I'm considering getting a chip myself
