Cable to connect etrex serial handhelds to PSP

I'm new here so I apologize if this is covered in another thread.

I'm looking to either buy or build a DIY cable to connect my etrex Vista (old B&W model with the 4 pin serial connector) to the PSP phat to use with the MapThis! software. Is there anyone who has bought or built one of these who would like to share some info?

Ok so no one appears to have tried this.

Has anyone had luck taking serial GPS units and connecting them via the USB port using a serial->USB conversion cable?

USB is a no go. It'd have to use the serial connection on the PSP.
