Snes9x TYL 0.4.2 ME NETPLAY PROBLEMS

My friend and I have gotten the brilliant idea of playing Contra 3 (we are so smart >.>) and it wouldn't connect properly. Let's leave the ibgger problems for later. So we go through our list of multiplayer games like king of monsters and sunset riders and teenage mutant ninja turtles. So we get past the accepting connection and the still:2435 and a bunch of random numbers part.
Then our screens remain black for those games, but it's not frozen, we can press home and quit if we want but none of the other buttons do anything... I'm host and I'm on a slim, he's on a fat (and he is fat ;D) and we are both 3.90 m33 - 2 (sorry if i got the name wrong i remember my friend telling me it was m33-2 whatever that means = /) hacked thingy.
Now we try Knights of the Round last and WOOT it connected correctly. BUT
only MY (the host) psp has the game showing, his psp screen was blank, he could control his character on my screen, but his screen was black, why is this? helpp?
