Default DSEmu 0.4.6 is out

22 August 2005: DSEmu 0.4.6 is out with bug fixes, a new logging window, an implementation of SRAM, and a more correct implementation of vram mapping. Some of the more recent demo's are emulated close to 100%. These include Teenage Queen, and WinDS. This release also incorporates a number of fixes and improvements from contributers other than myself. A big thank you to all those who contributed.

Default Nintendo DS casemods to come?

    Details :

    Nintendo DS Replacement Cases

    Strong Case For Renewal?

It's been a good 2005 for the DS and since launch, the sales phenomena (that was only seen in the SNES days) were replayed once again last year : a whopping 13 million handheld portable DSs shipped in 14 months! A feat to be envied by all of its competitors (namely the PSP and its own family of gameboy products).

Even as the DS reaches sold-out status in Japan, rumors are already lingering around town that Nintendo will redesign a brand new DS this 2006. Quite logical since warehouse stocks are ending its run and not being replenished as fast as it should. Or is it simply another one of those wild speculations that seem to plague the gaming industry every now and then? Our take is that the DS will continue to dominate the handheld arena for 2006 without any major changes. We think that 14 months is hardly the end of a product life-cycle for the DS, as its capabilities are still in the discovery stage. Why kill the goose that lays the golden egg?

    Project D-Sign : A DS Facelift

So what do we say to that? Based on the assumption that the goose lives, Xtreme Enterprise would like to give the DS casemod market a little nudge. Introducing Project D-Sign, a case replacement project for the Nintendo DS, in colors unseen in the current range, and unlikely to be produced by Nintendo. This project has been in the works for several months now and we will finally get to see its beautiful presence soon. As we build up the groundwork for the launch of Project D-Sign, we urge all DS owners to spread the word of joy that is to come to the DS casemod scene. Salut!
