Fantastic, time to play E.T!
Seriously, great work zx.
Hi All,
For those who has missed the beginning, Stella is on of the best emulator of Atari 2600
game console, running on many different systems, such as Linux, Solaris, Windows,
MacOS/X, WinCE, OS/2, GP2X.
It has been written initially by Bradford Mott, see http://stella.sourceforge.net/ for details.
PSP2600 is a port on PSP of the version v2.2 of Stella. It's based on the work
of Aenea who was the first to port Stella to PSP, and David Voswinkel
who's now in charge of the PSP port in Stella team.
It has been developped on linux for Firmware 3.x-OE and for PSP-slim.
What's new in this version (i hope the last) ?
- Display and save thumbnail images for each save state
- New graphics
- Option to prevent the blue led to be displayed when
L or R are pressed
How to use it ? Everything is in the README.txt file.
Sources are included, and this package is under the GNU public license,
read COPYING.txt file for more information about it.
You can download it on my blog :

Enjoy,
Zx.

Seriously, great work zx.
crashes and lock-ups all over the place.
H.E.R.O doesnt' run.
The situation here:
Using the 3.xx eboot, the emulator boots, I can see the gui of the emulator, but when I load a game, the sound of the game is played, but the image not.
Using the 1.5 eboot, the emulator boots but I can't see the gui, plus, my PSP menu button can't exit of the emulator. None of the keys pressed works in this mode.
And, as far as I could see, still doesn't run Pitfall 2, so I'll stay with the 1.04 version.
Anyway, thanks zx-81, I'm a big fan of you! :-D
PS: I'm still using 3.40 OE-A.
Thank you zx-81, your emulator releases have always made the scene more exciting. I'm so glad you are working on emulators for the Slim PSP.
Can't wait to try it out.
Yes yes..Thank you very much for this zx-81...The PSP realy is a (games)time machine..I was crazy about the Atari 2600..Payed a lot of money for it back then..
I remember growing up, playing atari. thanks for the release.
PS. I guess i need to check the forums, but is there a 7800 version play both 2600 and 7800 games?TNX N ADVNCE
Zx..I've told you before and tell you again...
YOU ARE FREAKIN AWSOME!! Thanks again so much for bringing the good ol' 2600 to our PSP's.
Will these new modifications be added to the old Fatty's or is all new stuff just gonna be for slim (in any case I'm happy)
But as for this David Voswinkle..no offense to him but what could he possibly be in charge of...you have picked up Aenea's port and made it play as accurately as the console itself (granted the PSP has no paddle etc..and it seems ONLY Pitfall2 has a problem although I think it works fine on my fatty) what would he be in charge of?
I was surprised to see this update as the one I downloaded from you early this year worked fine...
I'm wondering will it ever be possible (or has it been fixed and I missed it) to just exit from the home button without locking the PSP up? Is that the kind of stuff the Stella Team guy will work on....If so I hope he builds off your port as it's nearly perfect (I only say nearly cause the minor issues)
In any case thanks again for letting me crash on the couch and relive my days a 10 year old boy sitting on the floor staring at missile command until 3 in the morning!
My Dream for PSP Stella (would be helpfull someday for tv out Slim PSP's ) even on my fatty I would love an adaptor(or directions to make one like the stelladaptor) to the usb to hook up a paddle/joystick...that would be sweet...probably not possible though :-(
All those modifications work for both fat and slim.
Yes you're right, btw he doesn't even appear in the
Stella team list (on the official web site) , and the PSP part is not any longer part of the Stella project :
