Shadowblind
November 25th, 2007, 00:26
Yes. Well it used to be...I guess it still is. It has seen its share of trouble, a little bit as of late, but the community here is the best anywhere :D

The site has a good balance of games news and discussion, homebrew news and discussion, console news and discussion....and absolute randomness

Safari Al
November 25th, 2007, 00:28
A LOT of that last thing

hothothot

Shadowblind
November 25th, 2007, 00:34
great! when you say fair share of troubles, what exactly do you mean?

More or less, nothing bad. Just people making fun of staff, staff taking it well, members taking it not so well :D

But thats only a few. We others get the privilege of either fueling or diminishing the fights. We've got wanna-be spammers who are actually really awesome and never spam, we've got people posting about cats armies(you know who you are ;) ), and we've got an unmatched amount of people willing to help you with your troubles, mostly homebrew and game-related.

hothothot
November 25th, 2007, 00:38
cat armies sounds like my kinda thing :) (wtf is a cat army), do you know what dcemu stands for?

Shadowblind

Dreamcast emulation. Its not only dreamcast emulation anymore, but there are still a ton of Dreamcast faithfuls here.

Well I'm brand spankin' new to the emulation scene, don't know nothing. It really sucks starting from scratch in this era considering so many people know so much for someone like me its very overwhelming. It's damn near impossible to find good help or answers to specific questions because theres so damn much on it out there. So after a good 3 months just googling for info I realized most of the answers come from here (or at least linked to here). So I've decided to join you guys simply because you guys rock! I know I can find the help I need here. I'm new so I can't PM anyone but a link to a thread that will help me with my swap magic and cd-r burning would be greatly appreciated. Also a link to any thread that involves burning and emulation while using a MacBook (or mac os x Tiger). Thanks for having me guys! (P.S: Man am I ever having a helluva time getting this stuff done with my Mac. It kicks ass for everything else but man it is literal HELL when it comes to finding ROM builders and whatnot. Wonder why but like I said new to the scene)

Hi...I'm just new to this site and I'd like to introduce myself! :)
My names jojie, im from sweden and im 22 years old.
I'm currently on my first term at the International Academy of Film and Television (IAFT) (http://www.filmschool.ph) .
I initially took journalism in college but got frustrated with sitting in class doing exercises after exercises.
I wanted to create something tangible and substantial. One Google search led me to IAFT and the rest is history. Now im in the process of editing my own film.
A film that I wrote, I directed, and produced. I'd like to meet people in this forum, make friends and share ideas on a certain issue. I'm interested in learning some game craft.

My first post, and just letting you know how much I appreciate this forum, I love my psp, and thanx to all the helpful people here, I now have 3.90m33 cfw, emulators that play all my fave Nintendo games (which I own), a gps set-up that works flawlessly and basically the best psp on planet Earth!

Thanx again to all the coders here like Dark Alex and others that have helped to sick up my psp!

Now can someone help (or link) me with an ace music player for my psp that can have extra subfolders? :D

Thanx again dudes!

Hey Ginny, Well you have got the choice of =

Xandu's Media Player -
http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=71427&highlight=xandu%27s+media+player

Or LightMP3 -
http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=98717&highlight=lightmp3

I would try them both, and pick your favorite :)

Hi, I'm Nekomata Sensei. I didn't post before because I wasn't finding this thread. I bought Nintendo DS recently for my son, and now I'm showing him how older game machines were fun (ZX Spectrum and Amiga, among others). When I saw "Gobliiins" working on ScummVM for DS, I felt a deep satisfaction.

I don't know if anybody know about, but I'm a big fan of Samurai Pizza Cats TV animated series.

By the way, I'm not a native English speaker, so surely I has made a lot of gramatical errors. Sorry for that. :o

Hi, I'm from Puerto Rico. I've been hacking PSP's since it came out here. This is one of my favorite sites when I search for PSP files, but, I know I've been registered for quite some time, but I don't have internet in my house. I come into this page at least 4 times a week, but directly from my PSP (thank God for wifi) this is my second post, and my first was also today in the 395 GEN post. I know I don't have an excuse to not write any post, but it's not easy when your keyboard is a dpad and the X button. (right now I'm in my neighbors computer, I wanted to post this from a real keyboard.) I do have a PC, but use it just for "studies"...

right now I have a modded PSP (393 CFW), PS2 w/ FREE MC Boot 1.2c / Memcard Exploit 4.12/ HDLoader .8c, Evo-X Xbox, stealth chip PSX, and an unmodded Sega Saturn, Nes, SNES, N64, Gamecube w/ GameBoy Player, GBA SP, Jaguar and Genesis.

saludos desde Puerto Rico, Isla del Encanto!

Hi everybody, my friend and I use nintendo DS's to make music. Right now we mainly use Jam Sessions, Nitrotracker, Electoplankton, bliptracker... yeah, that's it. I'm looking to learn the art of Nitrotracker from anyone who has used it as well as other good music games / homebrew programs. Please hit me up with a PM if you have any suggestions or if you might be able to teach me the way of Nitrotracker.
Also I enjoy (but am not very good at) Metroid Prime Hunters, Kirby's Canvas Curse, and of course mario bros ;)

I am back after being a way from here for a while, currently busy with real life and my own website.

I'll try to be active withing the next while if I see anything interesting.

Other emulation networks don't seem to grab me or my enthusiasm like Ngemu does.

Also I get bored easily, and haven't been gaming much let alone emulation.

Well, here I am. Also known as siliconpie and PieNoAi on other forums, call me Pie if you need to address me. I've been posting for a while, and lurking for longer. I'm the unproud owner of a Wii (Hacked, of course. Only redeeming quality about it) and PSP (Also hacked, but slightly prouder of owning it since it was a gift, and it's got actual games). Also, I be a weeaboo (+ cool points if you knew what this was before Googling it), and a grammar Nazi (However, since I'm so freaking awesome Pie likes to talk in the third person, and occasionally mess up his verb tenses for lulz. Sometimes in the middle of a sentence!).
TL;DR, RIGHT? But also, +cool points if you read my whole spiel.

Hey, I just noticed! Page 100 =D
Say, anyone here play Melty Blood: Act Cadenza version B? I grow bored of playing Zelda =P

Btw, what's your stance on Symphonia 2? I'm rather unimpressed from what I've seen...

Just stopping by to say hello to everyone.

I have a Nintendo64, GameCube & DS along with a Original Xbox and iPod touch so i hope to find lots of stuff here to read about and investigate.

I do have one question and i dont know where to ask it ... is there anything life the classic elite for the nintendo DS as i think it would be a perfect platform to do a conversion to.

Man, this is a huge site. Looks like most of the gaming consoles are discussed. I started gaming on those large ply board encased PacMac/Centipede . I really didn't game on consoles after my Atari 26000<--not sure about the number. But PacMan/MsPac/Centipede and Q-Bert are the ones I remember. Haven't played much on PC's - awkward controls.
Bought a PS3 2 months ago with Grand Tourismo and Blazing Angels. They are a blast! Then I found out I could play my "oldies" on the PSP and something about a Pandora Battery. Well... Oh... for got to tell you (I AM a HARDWARE junky) Getting new hardware - disk drives/video cards/CPU upgrades(Yes I build PCs for me and my friends) to me is better than... you know.:)

So I HAD to have a PSP and a Pandora Battery. I was making my own Pandora and stopped just in time to realize it needed to be reversible too. So I looked at the discount stores to try to find a non-Sony (read as cheap) battery to Pandoraize. None where I looked. Then I had to make up my mind what color my PSP I wanted it to be. I wasn't a great Madden/Bret Farve fan, but the blue would be better than the Piano Black for two reasons: 1-With a package like God of War or Dexter, you get a Memory Stick, a game, and a video. Well, I settled with the Dexter Pack - I like silver. Can handle dirt while still looking good and same color as my car. I opened up the PSP and it's a PSP-2001! Arg! Will I be able to make it a Homebrew/Downgradeable PSP.

I finally ordered from http://www.wholesale-elite.com with a Blue LED and a 1Gb stick. I was a little anxious because after I ordered it, no one would answer an email. It did show up through USPS, i.e. NO Tracking info for 6-8 weeks (I don't like their tracking system).
I booted-up, just like ELITE's webpage said and I was running 4.0. Now after reading and experimenting a lot, I'm running 4.01 M33-2:thumbup:

I love operating systems on different hardware. I have gotten my PS3 running Linux(wow) it's MUCH better running as a console any day of the week. But I have a iMac 24" Core2Duo 2.8GHz-Extreme, a winxp box and 2 self-built x86_64 boxes running FreeBSD (1 with 3Ware RAID0) and 1 C2Duo running Fedora, 1 box runs what I tell it to when researching new releases or beta builds- once it was running x86OSX, that was BEFORE I bought my iMac. Big-HUGE improvement from a P4-3.4GHz P4P800 ASUS.

PSP's cost a whole lot cheaper than a rebuild to a Core2Duo PCIx 1333 DDR3 E8400 XFX9800GT

Kudos to the makers of 'God of War: Chains Of Olympus"! Fantastic graphics on that little screen.

To sum it up: These are great diversionary toys :D
I was once a Linux Nerd
