OK, in light of all these great announcements recently regarding PS1 and N64 emulation on PSP, I feel there is one system that hasnt gotten a fair shake.

VIRTUAL BOY!!!!!

I want it....you want it.....soooooo

Right now I can offer some cash ($100.00 U.S.) and maybe something else....i dunno yet. I am broke, moving, and trying to save money.

I am serious though. 100$ for a working virtual boy emu. If anyone else wants to contribute that would be splendid.

I am really surprised that no one has made a Virtual Boy emu for the PSP yet. I know it wasn't very popular, but it has some awesome games! I really hope that someone will make one in the near future.

you need allegro on PSP to have a chance of porting a virtual boy emu

wouldnt it be pretty hard to emulate the screen (if not impossible) because it used different leds to draw a 3d like image to the screen. I think the rest of the system would be easy to emulate. But I am not sure.

that would require everyone who wanted to play it to have a pair of polarized 3d glasses...
what was good about the virtual boy anyway, ive actually only ever heard bad things-.-

I remember playing virtual boy once, i didnt think it was all that great though... prolly cuz i just played one game and my neck got cramped later on from laying down putting my head onto the thingymajiggy.

brainpan: Could you point me in the direction to a (few?) Virtual Boy emulator's already out?

I remember one being worked on for the PC a long time ago. It was around the time PinMAME (visual pinmame was great! pinball emulation!) was getting popular. :)

wraggster: Are you talking about the Allegro SDK? If so, then I would imagine Virtual Boy source already exists for the emu and is in allegro. Depending, it could be adapted. Would be a fun emulator to at least see it's code for.

Won't work, you still need stereo images shown

This is VirtualE site:
http://www.emuunlim.com/VirtualE/

This is Reality Boy's site
http://goliathindustries.com/vb/

Here is one fore Mac called Vibe.
http://www.bannister.org/software/emu.htm

There is supposed to be a nice emu for PC called "Red Dragon" I cant find the official site but you can try:
http://www.vr32.de/

Hope this puts someone in the right direction. Also, a lot of these sites talk about dealing with stereo images and some of the techniques used on the emu. I have tried most of these emus before but without much luck. I haven't tried the one for mac yet but as soon as my girlfriend leaves me with her Powerbook, it' on!!!
