Medal of Honor (NTSC) = Works Perfectly - - - - - There's a control scheme in Medal of Honor that works perfectly with the PSP because it only requires one analog stick, making the analog stick and the D-Pad both control movement while the face and shoulder buttons control everything else. In the Home menu, you can use the control setup that makes the analog stick act as the D-Pad. The only problem with this whole setup is that you must hold down a button ("R2" AKA the right D-Pad button) to aim, which is a bit tricky but nothing terrible.

Quick question: all the ISOs I rip or otherwise procure are massive. Like, 300-700 megs. Am I doing something wrong, or do you all just have massive memory sticks?

Also, for some reason my PS1 screeen on the emu is shifted about a centimetre down (so there is a small black bar at the top, with the bottom cut off) - usual practice?

And I stuck Dead Or Alive on my stick but after the Sony Emu screen, my PSP screen goes black and nothing happens for ages. Any advice?

Ta.

Your not doing anything wrong, most of us havew 1gb or higher memory sticks

 not sure about this one.

Ta.

make sure you have the key file in the same directory as the DOA eboot. if you do it might either be your rip (try another format like .bin or .img) or the game doesn't work with the emu.

EDIT: first page list DOA as working with a special dump. not too sure what it mean by special dump.

Just incase anyone is playing Chrono Cross...it crshes when you get the character "Razzly" who you must have :( i tried a different save from someone else and once Razzly is in your party, it seems to crash whenever you recruit a new character.
I used my own, original copy of the game to create the EBOOT.PBP and have re-done it several times, still to no avail.
If anyone has had anything different please let me know, Thank you.

Oraichu
January 2nd, 2007, 16:31
Try using different converters. Or convert the iso over to .bin (if it's .img) before converting to .PBP.

Some of these small differences have fixed some of my games that crashed.

I can confirm that both spyro 2 - ryptos rage and spyro year of the dragon will load.

But, as soon as i try to enter another world on either, the screen freezes up momentarily and the screen goes black. But i can still press home and exit the game. What gives?

hope it helps.

Cool, thanks. I have a 2gig, but most of it is taken up with other emus. Guess I'll have to ditch some NeoGeo CD games. Also, I think part of my confusion was down to my initial rip, Ridge Racer, being such a small file. 5 meg or something, but I guess that's what happens with one track and no FMV.

EDIT: first page list DOA as working with a special dump. not too sure what it mean by special dump.

My Chrono Cross crashes when I got that character in my party too!! Totally sucks, it's not just you! :(

Damn, I was really hoping that it was to do with how I had ripped it from my disc, well at least it is confirmed then...not working :(

ive had the game since it was released in the US, but I could never get to Disc 2 as I was using the swap method to play on my old PS1, was kinda hoping after all these years I would be able to inish it.looks like I still cant

Maybe with 3.03 OE-A it will be corrected, Sony made the original 3.03 to sort out some Popstation compatability issue's from what im lead to believe, heres hopeing

I tried Crash Team Racing. It works perfectly apart from a couple of tiny graphical and sound glitches, but is definately playable
Also tried a patched PAL version of Tomb Raider 2 - managed to watch the opening intro and get to the menu, but it won't load anything after that.

Wasn't the update for FW 3.03 increase compatability with PS1 games? Now that we can decrypt 3.03, you think DaX could implement those changes into OE-C?

well I tried the new popstation that enables cd audio on X-Men Children of the Atom and it worked, the game now has ingame music!!

I also tried it on Brave Fencer Musashi as both a .img and a .bin both gave the same results. I can press start game and I see the small cutscene of the castle then when the cutscene ends the game freezes.

I wonder if there is someother way to tweak popstation to make this game fully playable... or do we just have to wait for more updates from sony... hmmm...

Chrono Cross = May freeze after confirming a new recruits name (NTSC)

I was able to recruit Razzly by recruiting another character I missed (Poshul). However, after spending a great deal of time playing, it freezes at a character you cannot skip to be able to progress (Norris). Maybe the freezing depends on the characters that have joined you.

I'm having the same problem here. The first time it happened to me I forgot to get Luccia but had razzly in my party. Couldn't get past Luccia's recruitment so I decided that maybe I needed to get Luccia first and Razzly second. Did that and it blacked out after name confirmation. I put the save file on my PC and played past that part of the game and put the file back on my PSP. I played through the part where Mel steals your stuff to get Mel to join my party just to once again be greeted with the black screen. The music still plays but I can't do anything but hit the home button and exit. It will do the same thing if you use the tele-porter screen.

I guess you need to get every character up to that point to join to keep it from doing that.

Just confirmed these yesterday, Sorry if they're already on the main list...2 lazy to check. I have compressed all these to lvl 9

- Metal Gear Solid Integral (J) [NTSC] All 3 Discs work Perfectly
- Twisted Metal 2 (U) [NTSC] Works Perfectly
- Jumping Flash (U) [NTSC] Works Perfectly
- Kurrunchi (Intelligent Cube) (J) [NTSC] Works Perfectly
- Capcom vs. SNK PRO (E) [PAL to NTSC] Works Perfectly, Some bottom screen cropping on Normal and Full Screen scales...looking for a fix. PM me if anybody here knows about one.

BTW, anybody have a little Disk animation on the Upper Right corner of the screen while game movies are playing?...This happened to me with Metal Gear Solid Integral during the movie where an enemy disguised and confused Meryl escapes into the elevator...I wasn't using Overclock.prx this time, cuz this normally doesn't happen when I clock the PSP to 300mhz to play MGSI.

3.52M33 with 3.40 Pops Plug-in = Testing

3.02OE, 3.51 and 3.52M33 firmware:
If the voice overs in the game stop playing, press the pause button twice and let the game continue.
A long list of constant comments/voice-overs will follow.
You should let them all play out before continuing.
Maybe the backlog of un-played comments eats up memory and causes the game to crash.
Using no compression may help prevent crashes.
Over-clocking may help may help prevent crashes.

- Play Tested using no compression.
- Original CD *.CDD image
- Now using M33 pops plug-in to test. - 07/31/07

Levels 1-8 Play Tested as of 01-28-07
Final Boss Level 8 complete.
Final Code: SIGYGOBISY

Robo Missile Dogs Rule...
But Rail Guns are the Shite!

Update 07/15/07
Future Cop LAPD using 3.40OE firmware
I have upgraded to the 3.40OE firmware and Future Cop LAPD seems to be playing good so far.
There has been definite improvement in pops compatibility since 3.10OE.
Previously Future Cop LAPD wouldn't run in any pops version greater than 3.02.
Sound; The voice overs play exactly when they should.
I have converted my game saves and I am continuing to play test the game for the random crashing that plagued 3.02.
So far the game seems much more stable.

I got a compressed ISO of Ridge Racer Type 4, and there are FMV issues. The opening video problems can be avoided by pressing Start as soon as 'Namco' appears (otherwise it crashes). Of more concern is the issue when I complete a Grand Prix: the game crashes as soon as the 'epilogue' begins, and there seems to be no way around it.

Well I found a temporary fix for the RE 2 police station lock up. I used ePSXe and CW cheat and was able to create a saved game using ePSXe and loaded the file using CW cheat. I'm not sure why the game locks up at the police station but it could have something to do with the short cut-scene that plays when you enter the police station for the first time.

Edit:

Nevermind, when you try and leave the station from the front door the game locks up again. The game also locked up on me when I tried to reach the second floor from the path way where you meet the first licker.

Yea it is a let down. Maybe the compatibility list should be updated. It is labeled as "Resident Evil 2 Fullspeed, Perfect Sound (NTSC)" maybe should add that it randomly crashes or something.

I tested Silent Hill and MegaMan 8.

MegaMan 8 (NTSC) - Works w/ full speed

Notes:
I'm still going through the game but I am at the second half of the game and so far I haven't run into any issues.

Silent Hill (NTSC) - Works w/ full speed

Notes:
My last save was at the Bridge save point before entering the second part of Silent Hill. The game has been running great for me.

Silent Hill (PAL) - Works but is very slow and choppy at points.

Notes:
I ran through the first part of the game and it was slow and choppy while running through town. I used Popstation GUI to patch the game but this didn't help. The game works but the choppiness ruins the game.

Strange.
I am playing NTSC only.

I could never get the first level to load at all without using the 3.02 pops plug-in.

The other saved levels load without sound but if you play it for very long it absolutely will crash.

Stability is a problem even with the 3.02 pops plug-in, but not nearly as bad with other firmwares.

I am still playing through Precinct Assault

I put some serious time this saturday on my Popstation site and now up to 700+ entries. That's without even touching SuperLinux's list, which I kept for desert. ;)

I only have to play with some PDF forms to set up the ADD-A-GAME and EMAIL sections. I don't want to get my email too easily in spam sniffers.

Anyhow, with a little luck, it should be done tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

will certainly look forward to that.. should be a very useful resoure, although im a bit concerned that some peoples idea of "working 100%" isbnt quite the same as mine... lol...

ive been testing some PAL games with the new 3.10 custom fw - these are all fresh ccd .imgs from original disks with cdda as appropriate - ive verified any problems with epsxe.

game (compression used in brackets ie L9)

Championship Manager Quiz - FINE (L9)
International Karate Plus - FINE (L9)
Mission Impossible - DOESNT WORK, CRASHES AT START OF FIRST LEVEL.. VIDEO SKIPS LOTS AS WELL
Pandemonium! - FINE (L9)
Raystorm - SOME PROBLEMS WITH SOUND DURING VIDEO SEQUENCES, WORKS THOUGH
Sensible Soccer - SOME PROBLEMS WITH SOUND DURING VIDEO SEQUENCES, WORKS THOUGH
Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo - SOME SOUND DISTORTION DURING VIDEO SEQUENCES, WORKS THOUGH
Worms - HANGS AT START.. CANNOT SEEM TO PLAY ANY VIDEO INCLUDING THE OCEAN LOGO AT START
Yeh Yeh Tennis - FINE (L9)

- with the exception of worms and mission impossible these mostly work ok - playable in any case - there just seems to be some problems with sound being either distorted or messed up for some reason (some sort of timing issue? )but all things considered, very promising.. centring is also a LOT better with the new "zoom" mode, so good in fact that there doesnt seem any point in patching to NTSC any more...

I've scoured this thread recently to make sure a fix wasn't posted, but have the crashes associated with Digimon World 3 [NTSC-U] been fixed in any particular version of Popstation?

The crashes in question are black screens/sound freezes at certain doors, and a glitched "Underground Path" in Asuka City (black screen, glitched corner, cannot exit, yet menu works fine).

The name of the directory you create should use the game's SLUS/SCUS number that is on the box of the game. i.e. SCUS00940. This solved some problems of games detected as "corrupt" in the PSP.

Using version 3.03 Popstation (from Dark_Alex regarding his OE BIOS) and up is incompatible with 3.02 and down since the do not need the keys.bin, etc. anymore.

Newer converter have enhanced compression (beginning at about march 2007). Use the latest PSX2PSP from King Squitter I think it's the most testes/compatible but I could be wrong. ;)

Just tested Front Mission 3 with 3.30 OE, as far as I can tell it's working perfectly - and I tried my best to crash it (rotating the camera constantly, watching all battle animations) - with previous firmwares I could never pass the second Yokasuka base mission, the game would crash just at the end, or during battle skill animations.

Awesome, thanks DA'X, I'd been hoping that 3.30 OE would have better PSX compatability and it totally does (guess I should thank the programmers at Sony too)

Ive noticed the same problem.

It seems the graphics get corrupted as soon as a spell with a countdown (like Death) is cast.

Its the first time ive tried to get it working though, so i dont really know about the previous versions.

Since this post wasn't really seen in the 3.40 release thread here it is...

LONG *Maybe Helpful* POST regarding Resident Evil 2

Many of you know that if you start Resident Evil 2 and play to the RPD Station the game crashes, well using CWCheat I found alot more.OK start the Tofu or Hunk mini game using CWCheat you can go all the way to the Sewer (With the Spiders) but if you attempt to climb the ladder (Which leads to the Dog Kennel in the RPD Station) the game will freeze. If you want to explore more, and if you have the Dual Shock Version, you can use CWCheat to unlock Extreme Battle Mode. Now the weird thing is that you can play everywhere in the Lab and in the empty underground station. However when you enter the trolley (Where you would've fought the William Birkin Claw with Ada in the regular game) it freezes when you get off. Therefore it just doesn't freeze when you attempt to enter the RPD station the regular way, infact it seems to freeze when you try to enter the RPD Station PERIOD (Well you can hear the music but you just get a black screen :P) So disappointing to know that it can run all those other parts, which is infact incredibly far in the actual game, yet it can't run anything in the RPD Station. However I heard that one person was able to get inside it but the game crashed for him when he attempted to go in the room to fight the Licker (Im thinking they used a PSX Emu save to get to this point, could be possible ;)).Also there is one other method someone could try that I haven't done already, they can possibly use the "Play 2nd Scenario on 1st Game" cheat to atleast get inside the back courtyard of the RPD station, though I doubt it they can be able to pass through the door which leads to the RPD station. I even tried Location codes but they never work for me (Though someone might be able to get them to work) but now Im sure your all wondering what are the cheats well here they are...

Heya mate, saw you stuck my Fluid comment in there. Further to that, the copy I have got is a PAL/NTSC dual boot. The NTSC version is fine, the PAL boot has minor glitches with some graphics text.

Just helping you pad out!

Added NTSC version too... thanks. Don't forget to add or correct stuff if need be. Like SuperLinux says, it's a team effort. ;)

Yeah, but how does in run on the 3.40 pops itself?

The same as 3.30: battle swirl, but the same glitching with some enemies casting countdown spells for example.

On that note I've managed to advance in the game with Popsloader 3.11. The game ALWAYS glitched in the second elevator fight when escaping from the Shinra building. I have tried two times in 3.11, with the first try glitching. Somehow the graphics didn't glitch on the second try, if this is due to the enemy not attacking me in the same way, I don't know. Will update here on the process.
