Why is Front Mission 3 listed working? It freezes for me eventually, no matter what firmware version.

i've only done some of my PSX games, but i'd really like to get a working copy of Mortal Kombat Trilogy (
[email protected])... several more games to convert (around 10-12), mostly WWE/F games and Madden games, but i'll need to invest in another 4GB stick first
anyways, here's my list of games i've converted over so far:
Triple Play 98 (NTSC) = Works Perfectly (the era of steroids had all the great homerun hitters)
Triple Play 99 (NTSC) = Works, but a random "Start" button bug pauses the game constantly... annoying glitch ruins gameplay
NFL Blitz (NTSC) = Works Perfectly
NFL Blitz 2000 (NTSC) = Works Perfectly
NFL Blitz 2001 (NTSC) = Works Perfectly
NHL Open Ice 2 on 2 Challenge (NTSC) = Works Perfectly
NBA Hoopz (NTSC) = Works Perfectly
Caesars Palace 2000 (NTSC) = Works Perfectly
Ultimate Fighting Championship (NTSC) = Works Perfectly
Hot Shots Golf (NTSC) = Works Perfectly
Knockout Kings 2000 (NTSC) = Works Perfectly
Ready 2 Rumble 2 (NTSC) = Works, but major graphics glitch during gameplay in the ring... skewed lines make it impossible to see the crowd and fighters
Tekken 3 (NTSC) = Works Perfectly
Mortal Kombat Trilogy (NTSC) = Works up to just b4 the Start and Options screen... goes black, no sound & no graphics
ECW Anarchy Rulz (NTSC) = Works Perfectly
WWF Smackdown 2 (NTSC) = Does not boot up at all

Supposedly FVIII and Resident Evil 2 work if you change the Game ID to SLPS01222. Haven't tried it yet though.

Does anyone know if Brave Fencer Musashi works yet?
There's been a pile of firmware upgrades since 3.03, in which Musashiden has serious problems, which is why I ask.

I just tried it a few nights ago on 3.71m33. No dice. Same crash after the 'Chapter 1' screen.
I don't really consider the ID number hack to mean that a game 'works', so I haven't tried that.
EDIT: Per Playstage, the likely culprit is that this game requires the Dual-Shock. Odd thing, that... I don't remember it REQUIRING the Dual Analog sticks, but since Chapter 1 starts with a controller vibration, this would make sense. Perhaps this could be something worked in to the POPS plugin to be ignored or otherwise handled? Also, if this IS the issue, perhaps it might fix other games that freeze up...

Just wondering if anyone else is having problems with PSX eboots since updating to M33_3.71_1.5+.
Most of mine are working, but last night i tested the game "threads of fate" and when i booted it the audio was completely screwed, not just sound glitches ; once the audio starts it gets so loud and distorted it actually makes the psp shake!
I was wondering if i should just make a new iso, or is it a problem with popstation having compatibility issues with 3.71. Im pretty new at all this, have only had my psp for month...so if there are any special tweaks inside popstaton i should know about i would greatly appreaciate them.
thnx
EDIT: Started over again, made a new iso and reconverted. Installed M33 3.71-2 and all is normal.

I played through it a little while back, would've been on one of the 3.03oe builds I think. I think I experienced one random crash somewhere, and there's a certain boss bottle fairly late in the game where the boss has one attack that forces the game to freeze (Searching the 'net seemed to illustrate that this happens on PC emulators as well...) I'm a total lucksack, so I managed to get through the battle without him using said attack on about the third attempt :) Other than that, everything worked beautifully.

I just tried Brave Fencer Musashi on 3.80 m33-5 and it still crashed. Tried using a previous Game Save from my PSX MemCard ( Conversion instructions here (http://www.gamerspress.com/index.php?title=PSX_on_PSP_-_Memory_Card_Handling). ) and it would still crash when I'd try to 'zone' from Grillin' Village to Twinpeak Mountain.
On another note, I used a prior game save to see if Klonoa would work past the 'choke point' just before the boss battle with Joka at the end of Vision 1-2. So far, I've played almost all of the remaining levels with no difficulty at all. (I didn't try the Bonus stage yet because I'm not feeling particularly masochistic today.)
If there's interest, I can try to create a PSP-friendly gamesave post Vision 1-2 and upload it here.
It'll be interesting to see if the 'Official' release of Klonoa on the PSN suffers from the same issue. Maybe they fixed it in 3.90.... Won't know that 'til 3.90 m33! ^^

Hey guys,
I see on the initial page of this thread that Fighting Force works. It runs fine for me, but I get really, really bad static sound on it. Has anyone managed to get it to work with the sound working properly? I would appreciate any tips/pointers. I'm using 3.80 M33-5, BTW.

Haven't tried Resident Evil, I'm afraid, but I do have a few others to report...
SaGa Frontier and Crash Team Racing seem to be broken as of 3.90. SaGa Frontier would just go black and CTR's textures were seriously screwed up.
I used POPSLoader to use the 3.72 POPS and they both worked flawlessly again (Though I don't recall having any issues with 3.80, I didn't have the 3.80 POPS handy).
Anyone 'in the know' out there have any Idea about what changes might have been made that might have caused this weirdness?
