Microsoft's headline E3 announcement slips early
Microsoft will later today reveal Halo 4 at its E3 press conference, leaked data suggests.
A message on Microsoft's official E3 homepage reads: "The news millions of Halo fans have waited for: Halo 4 is on the way."
The project is likely being developed by a team at Microsoft's 343 Industries group.
The data has since been removed.
The image used to promote Halo 4 was of the series' key ptotagonist, the Master Chief, suggesting Halo 4 will pick up where Halo 3 left off.
Microsoft is hours away from announcing the project at its E3 press conference.
The franchise's original creator, Bungie, has broken away from the series having signed a ten-year deal with Activision.
The now-independent developer is creating a brand new IP for the Call Of Duty publisher.
