Here comes a break news that r4igold 3DS flash card was came out offically this afternoon. The time is sooner than the arranged time (05-03-2011).Cheers.thanks for r4igold team's hard work .

Following is the original quote from r4igold official :

" The chips included in this 3DS cart is MX23J4GC0-75H(48Pin) and 25L4001(8Pin) and its hardware structure is almost the same as that of the NDS cart. What's more,Our technical team removed the standing out part of the 3DS cart and inserted it into a NDS,so 3DS cart's encrypiton part is different from that of a NDSL cart."

From above,we will find that there havn't much change for r4igold 3DS with r4igold.The only mini difference between them lies in package and modchip adopted, please look at following comparison picture :

you will find compared to r4igold original package, the new package for r4igold 3DS with a striking mark "3DS" in the left bottom, yet, they are still sharing with the same offical website.(www.r4ids.cn)

In the respect of Modchip Adopted : the r4igold 3DS uses MX23J4GC0-75H(48Pin) and 25L4001(8Pin) Modchip,so 3DS cart's encrypiton part is different from that of a NDSL cart.Yet,its hardware structure is almost the same as that of the NDS cart.

    R4igold 3DS Video Show :

There will be more information about this item and i will keep update in this forum.

Hello everyone! You all enjoying your 3D Tvs and wearing your specs?
What do you mean you don't have one yet? Oh ok you over there has one, cool.
So you been playing your games in 3D then, seeing them come out at you and really feeling the depth? What you mean you don't have any games like that? pfft!!

Ahh yes, stereoscopic gaming. With the advent of release of the 3DS, (with no need for the specs I might add) 3D gaming is the big thing of 2011, but actually its been going on for quite some time....

Which brings us neatly on to the topic of RETRO 3D GAMING (ooooh!)

This is not the first attempt that Nintendo has released a 3D portable console, its first was the virtualboy:

The virtualboy came out in summer 1995 in japan (August 14 US), and was a red/cyan based 3D but recieved a luke warm reception and never made it to europe, so sadly was canned the following year.

Although it did have impressive 3D, because of the monochromatic nature limited its appeal.

Other companies have developed 3D addons for their consoles, but none had gone past the prototype stage.

That leads us on to PC gaming.

3D acceleated graphics cards have made gaming on the pc what it is today, with so many available there have been so many gimmics bundled with them.

And one company decided to add some stereoscopic glasses to the package:

Elsa had bundled these glasses with their Gforce cards around 1999, and were shutter based that synced with the pc, and were wireless using infrared.

They were pretty much comparable to how modern 3D shutter glasses work, so how come they didn't start the 3D stereoscopic gaming a standard back then?

Sadly at the time this was a novelty (half life did look pretty great though!) and was bundled with few demos and tools, but support and compatability mean't it died off pretty quick.

    So back to 2011....

You got your latest graphic card, all 3Ded up, but your wondering if you can get your retro fix in a whole new perspective? Well your in luck!

    Emulation:

Emulation is pretty much where most retro is played on a modern system, and with more and more plugin based, has allowed console games to be graphically improved, with direct stereoscopic support or to be allowed to be used with the hardware using nvidia 3d vision.

    Noteable emulators:
Dolphin, allows stereoscopic display for gamecube and wii with the included plugins

    Pcsx2:

N64: with use with the modified rice plugin s3d allows use with nvidia 3d vision

    And the rest...

Want to have your classic glide based games in stereoscopic such as tombraider?
well with the use of wrappers with its possible such as http://www.glidos.net/

With so many options for retro games in stereoscopic 3D, the list is endless, feel free to ask questions or post your own findings in the comments or on our forums.

Well i'm off to play a few classic games in HD now, something to write about for another blog me thinks........... ...

    News via http://psx-scene.com/forums/f6/foren...dispute-82276/

In the latest round of Sony vs. Geohot legal wrangling, court documents obtained by PSX-SCENE reveal that there is now a dispute as to how Geohot's hard drives are being handled by TIG, the third-party company designated to analyze them.

The original court order only called for the drive(s) to be delivered to a third party "for the purpose of isolating, segregating and/or removing the information on those devices related to Defendant Hotz's circumvention of the TPMs in the PS3 system."

Now the company doing the analysis wants to create TWO FULL IMAGES of the drive(s), in both decrypted and encrypted form!!! According to Geohot's attorneys, "SCEA is not entitled to inspect the impounded drives under the impoundment order, nor is it allowed to create and preserve additional copies of the impounded drives, but this is precisely what it seeks to do."

SCEA, of course, is demanding that this fast one be allowed.

    Quote:
For the foregoing reasons, SCEA requests that the Court order that Mr. Hotz comply with TIG‟s recommended impoundment protocols and that those protocols be supplemented to ensure that preservation requirements are met as follows:

    (1) TIG create and preserve two forensically sound images (e.g., bit stream images) of each impounded storage device in its encrypted form: One to be maintained by TIG in a secure vault for preservation purposes and the second to be used for decryption and/or any other necessary analysis by TIG;

    (2) TIG create and preserve two forensically sound images (e.g., bit stream images) of each impounded storage device in its un-encrypted form. One to be maintained by TIG in a secure vault for preservation
purposes and the second to be used for TIG‟s necessary analysis; and

    (3) TIG maintain and preserve all of the forensically created images for the duration of the lawsuit.

    SCEA further requests that the Court order Mr. Hotz to: (a) provide TIG with the tools and keys necessary to decrypt the impounded storage devices and the keys and passwords necessary to decrypt or unlock any protected files contained on the impounded storage devices;

    (b) identify for TIG all virtual machines or hard disks stored or at any time run on the impounded storage devices.3 Furthermore, to verify compliance with the impoundment order, SCEA requests that the Court order Mr. Hotz to provide a declaration setting forth: (i) verification that all storage devices on which any circumvention devices or any information relating to Mr. Hotz‟s circumvention of the technological protection measures in the PS3 System are stored have been delivered to TIG; (ii) why the storage device used by Mr. Hotz in the January 7, 2011 YouTube video entitled “Jailbroken PS3 3.55 with Homebrew” was not delivered to TIG for impoundment; and (iii) the identity of any remote storage of the circumvention devices or any information relating to Mr. Hotz‟s circumvention of the technological protection measures in the PS3 System.4 Finally, SCEA seeks fees and costs in relation to this motion. ...

This is the third official, full-point release, of GoldenEye: X, a project that ports GoldenEye’s stages, weapons, and characters to Perfect Dark. Over the last few months, we’ve been busy adding in new content, as well as addressing certain issues that cropped up in the most recent versions of the game. We’ve not only been focusing our efforts on the multiplayer ‘Virtual Reality’ aspect of the game, but have also made advances with the mission campaign. However, we’re still not quite at the point where those are good enough to be made public. In the meantime, you can play solo (or co-op) against up to eight Simulants in any of the VR levels available. Here is a summary of the edits and updates in this version…
    • There is a lot more available to the player from the very start of a new file. From Virtual Reality, you should have access to every weapon, weapon set, music track, scenario, game option, and Simulant type (with the ability to use up to eight).
    • Two new levels are available in VR… Bunker ii and Archives. They are (mostly) complete with glass, doors, metal crates, and all the weapons you can handle. The Simulants perform very well, and are able to fully traverse the stages. The only hiccup lies in the metal crates. They’ll eventually drop through the floor after being destroyed and disappear for the remainder of the match. It may take a few cycles for it to happen, however.
    • There’s a very special treat in this release. Expertly ported from The World Is Not Enough on the N64, the “Labyrinth” multiplayer map by Zoinkity. He’s brought this fun level over to GoldenEye, which was then converted for Perfect Dark and updated to have more spawns, additional ammo crates, Capture the Flag bases, and even five Hills. It’s a brand new experience for those not familiar with TWINE, and a great bit of nostalgia for those who are.
    • Get your hands on some new hardware! Take out your opponents in stealth by using the silenced variations of the PP7 Special Issue and D5K Deutsche. The destructive Shotgun is also now at your disposal. Like some of the other weapon ports, the muzzle flashes and bullet origins aren’t perfect, but the weapons themselves and their positioning matches the originals. Once we learn more about how the weapons in PD are setup, these issues will be taken care of.
    • An additional eight bodies and five heads have been added to the character roster. Choose from the Russian Soldier, Jungle Commando, Siberian Guard (Black) [which also completes Mishkin], or Siberian Special Forces. Feeling invincible? Than select Boris as your on-screen persona. Want to use some voodoo magic against your foes? Baron Samedi is just waiting to put on a hex. And whether you’re tall or short, there’s somebody for you. Jaws and Oddjob, the polar-opposites in GE, are ready to duke it out again… whether you want your friends to use them or not is up to you.
    • From the first patch, the Moonraker Elite has been using a customized arm/hand model. Since then, the other characters have been matched up with more appropriate models. Most of those have also been customized, since PD only offered so many styles. There’s a couple that still require better textures, but the majority of characters are complete.
    • Simulants are now fully supported in the Caves map. Thanks to a base AI Path Network created by Octan Baron for his custom mission in GoldenEye, Sims are capable of navigating all areas of the stage. Hopefully this will breath new life into a level that most would consider to be the least appealing multiplayer choice in GoldenEye.
    • Egyptian has seen some architectural modification since the last release. There are three chutes that normally contain ceiling-mounted drone guns in the mission. They have been edited and changed into ramps. It was a decision made to better performance, for both humans and Sims. Before, people were capable of falling through the lower edge of the chute and dying. As a ramp, this occurance is eliminated. Simulants now use these ramps without any issues.
    • The left-handed Phantom and Sniper Rifle now draw correctly, and not inside-out. Their bullet origins are still inaccurate, but the Phantom does have a slightly improved muzzle flare. It also uses the appropriate sound effect, and has been adjusted to better replicate the original. The Sniper Rifle has also been slightly modified, and now deals the same amount of damage as in GoldenEye.
    • The AR33 Assault Rifle and RC-P90 are now capable of penetrating through objects and characters. I’m not sure why they weren’t setup by Rare to do this in the first place, but it has since been fixed.
    • Certain doors in various levels weren’t using the proper flag to prevent them from being seen through walls. Those that appeared in Temple, Facility and Egyptian are now all taken care of. Others also close portals when shut, which may help slightly
