X3Max posted this image a couple of days ago and no one really knew what it meant...

Unfortunately, its not the "3.50 jailbreak" that they prematurely posted a video of but its something especially for those who purchased the dongle and looking for a downgrade. We have attached the downgrade file and instructions for your convenience. Downgrade method is the same as all other jailbreaks.

However, you'll need to download the "modified 3.41 PUP" and "Lv2Diag.self's" via Google or other PS3 hacking sites as they are Sony copyrighted files.

In most circumstances, we'd argue a self-illuminating controller crisscrossed by bright bands of orange is a couple of notches over the top, but when it's Tron you're talking about, it all makes sense. This latest peripheral for the 360 is up for pre-order now at $39.99 and comes prepackaged with the smugness of knowing that each one sold will be part of a very limited 250-unit production run. It's officially licensed by Microsoft and arriving at snowy doorsteps some time later this month. A less exclusive blue brother should be joining it soon as well, in case the current hue's not quite to your liking.

Sega, the once proud innovator of console design, is back in the gaming hardware business! Only not in the fashion you might think. The company has just rolled out a trial of its Toylets system, which embeds a pressure sensor into otherwise innocuous urinals and gives life to every bad piece of joystick-related innuendo you ever heard. Four games are available right now, to be enjoyed through a display mounted at eye level, including one where the intensity of your delivery helps blow a girl's skirt up and another that offers (asynchronous!) multiplayer competition. The latter game matches you against the previous dude to have used the porcelain repository, thereby finally providing Japanese men with a measurable way to settle pissing contests. It's official: we're moving to Japan.

The NPD has revealed early fruit of its recently-announced intention to look more closely at digital game revenues.

Its Game Purchase Drivers 2010 report found that an average of 71 per cent of US game purchases over the last three months were physical.

Of the 29 per cent that were digital, 42 per cent were via mobile app stores or phone carriers - thus constituting some 12 per cent of total game sales.

30 per cent of the digital sales were via "console/portable services such as Xbox Live or PlayStation Network." This extrapolates to 8.7 per cent of all game sales.

Game download portals such as Steam and BigFishGames were named the largest driver of digital sales, constituting 47 per cent. This equates to 13.63 of combined physical and digital sales for the period.

The NPD also claimed that around 20 per cent of the digital consumers had purchased add-on DLC in some form.

Of the total sales for the three months, 10 per cent of purchasers had done so with the help of trade-in games. The average number of games (again, physical and digital) bought over the period was 3.1.

The study polled 3704 Americans online, with results adjusted "to be representative of the U.S. population age 2+."

    Hi All,

Tombstone city is a game developped in 1981 by Texas Instrusment for the TI99/A4.
    (see http://www.videogamehouse.net/tombstone.html).

My very good friend Buzz has developped his own version of this game for Linux, Windows and the Nintendo DS.

    See http://buzz.computer.free.fr/ for details.

This version is a simple update from the original version. Music intro, and game sounds are now fully supported.

Sources are included, and this package is under the GNU public licence v2, read COPYING.txt file for more information about it.

Microsoft is working to improve the accuracy of Xbox 360 motion-sensing add-on Kinect so that it could detect finger movement and hand rotation, Eurogamer understands.

Microsoft's Kinect team is said to be working "very hard" on a switching or compression technology that will allow a greater amount of data to pass through Kinect to the Xbox 360 console.

Kinect features are dictated by firmware so that they can be added and upgraded over time.

The depth sensor used by Kinect is also dictated by firmware – it is currently set at a 30 frames per second limit and a 320x240 resolution limit.

At a 640x480 resolution, however, Kinect could begin to detect fingers and hand rotation – an effective quadrupling of its accuracy.

The issue relates to the USB controller interface, Eurogamer was told. It is capable of around 35MB/s, but it only uses around 15/16MB/s.

This artificial limit is in place because multiple USB devices can be used at once on an Xbox 360. But Microsoft is working on a technology to allow greater throughput in this regard, Eurogamer understands.

If Microsoft achieves its goal it could double the spec of Kinect's depth camera with a simple dashboard update.

Microsoft had not responded to Eurogamer's request for comment before publication, but Digital Foundry's Rich Leadbetter described the potential accuracy improvement as "eminently doable".

Microsoft would need to "disable or lower throughput of game installs running from USB flash drives to free up additional bandwidth," Leadbetter said.

"All eminently doable though bearing in mind that Kinect 'only' needs 20MB/s for full res from both cameras.

"The resolution coming out of the depth camera via PC is indeed 640x480, but it is uncertain just how accurate the camera's sensor is.

"Additionally, processing four times as many depth pixels could slow things down more."

Last month Anton Mikhailov, a software engineer at Sony Computer Entertainment America's research and development department, told Eurogamer Sony turned down Kinect's 3D camera because of the limitations of the tech.

"In reality, the 3D cameras we surveyed and what Kinect ended up using, they're 320x240 resolution, so when you're talking about tracking fingers, or even tracking things like the rotations of your hand, you're working with 10x10 pixels," Mikhailov said.

"It's very hard to get anything useful out of it."

Mikhailov doubted Kinect's capacity to create a decent Star Wars game "because there are so many ambiguities, and it's nearly impossible to track the angles of your wrists".

If Microsoft's achieves its goal of improving Kinect's accuracy, however, Mikhailov could be proved wrong.

    News via http://psx-scene.com/forums/f6/new-p...ference-73258/

Bushing, founding member of the Team Twiizers and the iPhone DevTeam, and one of the authors behind PSGroove and Marcan (famous before, and now more famous for his 360 Kinect adventures) are listed as speakers at the next annual 27C3 conference in Germany! PSGroove.com is reporting that they are planning to show off a few new PS3 Exploits!

    Quote:
Mark your calendars for December 28!

PS3 users are in for a few surprises at this years Chaos Communication Congress, an annual hacking conference. Console hackers, marcan, bushing, and sven, are set to give a one hour lecture about the recently hacked PS3 system. You may recognize marcan, from his work on AsbestOS and bushing, from his work on the PSGroove exploit.

During their upcoming talk, they intend to go over the current PS3 hacks and plan to share a few new exploits, as well! This should be some very exciting stuff for PS3 users!

For those of you unfamiliar with the Chaos Communication Congress, it is an annual meeting of the international hacker scene, organized by the Chaos Computer Club. The congress features a variety of lectures and workshops on technical and political issues. The event has been the host to many important hacking related talks over the past 27 years. Including, the first example of Homebrew code being run in native Wii mode which was demonstrated in December 2007.

For those of you planning to attend, the event is located in Berlin, Germany at the Berlin Berliner Congress Center. The event will run from December 27-30th 2010. A Standard ticket, which is good for the entire 4-day event, will set you back 70 Euros. Fort those of you just looking to attend the console hacking lecture, a day pass can be had for just 30 Euros. Details, regarding the console hacking lecture, can be found below.

    Console Hacking 2010 --- PS3 Epic Fail

Over 70 million Wiis, over 40 million Xbox 360s and over 35 million Playstation 3s have been sold in the last few years. That makes over 145 million embedded devices out there and most of them are just used to play games. But what can you do with them if you don't like playing games? You hack them to make them run your own code of course! We're going to talk about the various hacks that you can use to gain control of your hardware and make it do what you want it to do.

2010 saw the first hacks for the Playstation 3, soon after Sony removed Other OS functionality. We will detail the operation of current PS3 exploits, show a few new ones and explain where and how Sony went wrong when designing its security system, and show how these holes can be used to gain control over the system and bring Linux back to the PS3.

Gamers might find this talk interesting even though it is targeted at those who hack (or design) embedded system security. A basic knowledge of crypto is therefore assumed. We will also be present in the Hackcenter before and after the presentation for those of you who are interested in learning more

Qt 4.7.1 for caanoo a ready.
UPD: for fix touchscreen support problem do this:
You must download file http://dev.emulate.su/downloads/qt47...release/ts.zip and unpack it contents of it into sd card. There are one folder. And now there are new structure on SD card:
    Code:

    -SD CARD ROOT
    -|qt
    --|lib
    --|plugins
    --|imports
    --|translations
    -|ts
    --|arctic2.so
    --|collie.so
    --|corgi.so
    --|dejitter.so
    --|h3600.so
    --|input.so
    --|linear.so
    --|linear_h2200.so
    --|mk712.so
    --|pthres.so
    --|tatung.so
    --|ucb1x00.so
    --|variance.so
    -|ts.conf-input
If you read this, and you downloading first time, you dont must do this: now archive updated and ts directory already in archive.

You may download it and see instructions here: http://dev.emulate.su/projects/qt-4.7.1-caanoo (English text below).
Updates will be available in those adress. Right now, works all but OpenGL (there are wrong display color depth definitions).
And some games, and webbrowser (there are already ready and compiled) coming soon — I will release all or them, if you report about successful running QCheckers as a test game.
    So, I im:
    1. wait for report about succesfull running Qt program.
    2. will release webbrowser and others programs.
This post - is preparing step, platform for start of porting and writing Qt apps.

    Installing is easy:
    1. Download last package qt4.7.1 for caanoo
    2. Unpack contents of directory caanoo-sd-card (qt dir and ts.conf-input file) into root of SD-card. So, qt now installed in /mnt/sd/qt/lib.
OK, thats all. You may run Qt-based games right now.
For check you may download test game — QCheckers. This is classic checkers game with AI. For running this, create qtgames (or other) on SD-card? and unpack archive contents here. Don't unpack it into games or apps — there are no .ini file in current QCheckers game. Choose Explorer in console menu, and run QCheckers.gpe. Thats all. You may download games and run it over Explorer, or with Games menu — if developer create .ini file and icon.
