It's a big day for Nintendo gamers tomorrow, with three highly anticipated games finally hitting store shelves.
Injustice: Gods Among Us is probably the best known of the three, with a marketing machine inundating us with non-stop celebrity "versus" commentary, character announcements and trailers galore. Entertaining, sure, but it feels like it'll never end.
Everything should begin to wind down tomorrow though, when the game releases, the reviews hit, and we can finally sit back and draw our own conclusions by doing what fighting gamers do best - beat the snot outta each other. There's little doubt Injustice: Gods Among Us won't allow us to do this well enough, being developed by NetherRealm Studios. But a good game is always better when you can find it for a great deal, and thankfully, there are a number of 'em running, including a still-available $10 store credit pre-order bonus from Amazon.
Along with Injustice: Gods Among Us, Atlus' Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers is also available April 16th. 'Course, this is great news for Shin Megami Tensei fans, made better with the nice extra Atlus decided to include with the game - an arranged CD soundtrack featuring six songs voted for by fans. Retailers - including Amazon, Best Buy, and Gamestop - are referring to this CD as a pre-order bonus, and while pre-ordering is probably the best way to secure a copy, it looks more like the first (only?) print run of the game includes the soundtrack, so you may very well find this special packaging on store shelves.Last, but certainly not least - Pandora's Tower releases tomorrow! XSEED surprised many a Wii gamer by localizing this final installment of the original Operation Rainfall Trio, and while there's nothing in the way of special editions or pre-order bonuses or whatever, the fact the game is actually being released - and for $40, even - is cause for celebration. My only real concern for Pandora's Tower is the (possible) limited availablity - Amazon, Walmart, and Gamestop are all listing the title online, but other big retailers such as Best Buy and Toys R Us are not. Given this, plus the game release late in the Wii's life cycle (usually associated with a low print run), I'm not sure I'd wait too awful long before pulling the trigger on this one.

On ebay theres an auction of a very rare double box set
Super metroid & zelda big box - the ultimate snes big box edition ! your more likely to find a zelda big box than one of these.
UK PAL released at the end of 1994 as a promotional item. This is a one off chance to obtain one of these in collectors condition. I decided to buy this set over the scandanavian release zelda big box as it combines two of the best games released on the snes & I personally feel it looks better as well. This set was also a lot harder to obtain & is the grail of my collection.
Ive only ever seen 2 for sale in the past few years & both the others were badly damaged & incomplete. This is a true one off for an investor or hardcore snes collector.

A report from New Jersey has called for tighter regulations on the sale of 'violent' and Mature rated games.The report comes from the New Jersey SAFE Task Force on Gun Protection, Addiction, Mental Health and Families, and Education Safety (NJ SAFE Task Force), formed on the order of Governor Chris Christie on January 17, 2013, in the wake of the Sandy Hook massacre in December 2012, which sparked a widespread and heateddebate on gun control and violence in media.The organization was charged with "reviewing the root causes of mass violence and developing recommendations aimed at ameliorating those root causes". It includes talks on gun control, urban violence, mental health including substance abuse, school security and violence in the media.The report takes aim at the "interactive nature" of video games, requesting "particular regulation" versus other non-interactive forms of media."The interactive nature of video games, as opposed to other forms of media, may dictate particular regulation of such games," says the report, before going on to make the following recommendations:
- Require Minors to be Accompanied by an Adult When Purchasing Video Games with an M (Mature) or AO (Adults Only) Rating
- Require a Request for Identification for the Sale or Rental of a Video Game with an M or AO Rating
- Require Retailers Selling Video Games to Conspicuously Display ESRB Ratings at the Point of Sale
- Require Retailers Selling Video Games to Develop, Maintain and Conspicuously Display Their Policy on Selling Video Games with an M or AO Rating
The report also calls of public display regulations. "The appropriate authority with jurisdiction over certain State property where video games have been made available to the general public, such as highway rest areas, should consider the practicality and feasibility of regulating those video games to ensure that violent games are not made available to children."You can read the full 83-page report here....

We saw AT&T open up a registration page for the Galaxy S 4 almost as soon as Samsung's presentation was over, but now that link is exposing a bit more information. Several tipsters let us know that for customers in certain areas, the website is now showing the 16GB GS 4 available for pre-order in White Frost or Black Mist. Some of the details are visible to all, including that the phone is promised to ship April 30th and has an off-contract price tag of $639 ($199 w/ two-year agreement). Those who can get further in the ordering process report it's expected to arrive at their homes on or before May 3rd, with two-day shipping. Hit the link below if you're moved to get your pre-order for Samsung's latest standard-bearer in as soon as possible.

PS4 could launch at a lower price than its predecessor the PS3.
Admittedly, the PS3 launched in the UK at an eye-watering £425. Launching PS4 above that would be ‘brave’ to say the least. But with the new console packing plenty of tech, just how low can we expect it to go?
“We listen and learn and take the judgement from every console launch we ever have and we have to be informed by what the strengths of our PlayStation 3 system have been, but also the challenges of that,” Sony Worldwide Studios VP Michael Denny told Edge.
“We want a system that can reach as broad a gaming audience as possible but whilst being a system that’s deep, connected, rich and immersive and is going to give a very focused and differentiated experience than anything else that’s out there.
“We’ve got lots of information yet to give out on PlayStation 4. The initial announcement phase that we’re in now is just to explain the vision to everybody. Part of that vision is we have created a console absolutely focused on gamers – and we want that to be gamers in the broadest sense as well. I think to some extent I can ask you to draw your own conclusions.”
Nintendo’s Wii U Premium launched £299 and has struggled to gain traction in the UK. PS4 will of course target a largely different demographic – one that Sony hopes has more in the way of disposable income.
The safest bet is Sony launching a number of SKUs, quite possibly two – an entry-level machine and a deluxe version. Expect more in the way of storage and accessories with the high-end SKU.

Google has issued the specifications for its spectacles. The search-engine giant's Google Glass, an augmented-reality headset that allows wearers to view information on a tiny screen embedded in one of the lenses, features a camera capable of snapping 5-megapixel photos and 720p video. That aforementioned screen, in the words of Google's just-released specs sheet, "is the equivalent of a 25-inch high definition screen from eight feet away." Google Glass is compatible with any Bluetooth-capable phone. Its MyGlass app, which enables SMS messaging and GPS, requires a companion device running Android 4.0.3 (the "Ice Cream Sandwich" build) or higher. Google claims the battery will provide a "full day of typical use," although the company warned in the specs sheet that certain functions—most notably video recording and Hangouts—could drain the battery faster. Despite those neat features, Google Glass also raises some thorny questions about surveillance culture, and whether people really want whole crowds recording every moment of our collective lives. But those are the sort of conundrums that will only become more clear when Google Glass is actually released sometime later this year."

According to a forecast by IHS iSuppli, netbooks are in their final days and will be extinct by 2015, thanks to the popularity of tablets.
For 2013, netbook shipments are expected to fall to 3.97 million units, down 72 per cent from 2012.
“The market for the small, inexpensive notebooks had steadily climbed for three years from the time the devices were first introduced in 2007, peaking in 2010 when shipments hit a high of 32.14 million units. Since then, however, the netbook space has imploded and gone into decline – fast,” noted IHS iSuppli.
The researcher seems to point the finger at Apple’s iPad when trying to explain the downfall of the netbook.
As netbooks hit their peak of 32.14 million in 2010, along came the iPad and it's at that point sales started to dip. Just one year later and there were over ten million less netbooks being sold.
"Initially intended for light productivity tasks such as web browsing and email, netbooks eventually became more powerful, taking advantage of a mature PC technology that allowed cost-effective implementation of various functionalities. And though never equaling the performance of full-fledged notebooks and lacking full notebook features like an optical drive, netbooks at one point began taking market share away from their more powerful cousins.
“However, netbooks began their descent to oblivion with the introduction in 2010 of Apple's iPad."

Fujitsu has developed a next-gen interface that can turn almost any object into a touchscreen.
The user interface can accurately detect the users finger and what it is touching, such as pictures and text from books, turning them into interactive, touchscreen objects.
Although impressively accurate, the system doesn’t use any special hardware, consisting of a webcam-like device and a commercial projector.
"Until now, gesturing has often been used to operate PCs and other devices. But with this interface, we're not operating a PC, but touching actual objects directly, and combining them with ICT equipment," said Taichi Murase, researcher, Media Services System Lab, Fujitsu.
"The system is designed not to react when you make ordinary motions on a table. It can be operated when you point with one finger. What this means is, the system serves as an interface combining analog operations and digital devices."
Although the technology is still at demonstration level, researchers believe a commercial version could be ready by next year.

Add this to the list of Tax Day surprises: the Dell XPS 18 all-in-one is available for pre-order online one day ahead of schedule. The giant tablet / semi-portable desktop won't actually ship until the first week in May, but you can add one of three configurations to your cart now. The entry-level model, with a Pentium processor and a 320GB hard drive, will set you back $900, while Core i3 and Core i5 versions are priced at $1,000 and $1,350, respectively. We liked what we saw when we went hands-on with the 4.85-pound PC: its flip-out feet let you transition between slate and desktop mode easily, and the 1080 capacitive touch display is very crisp. Admittedly, there is only a handful of tabletop Windows 8 slates, but the XPS 18 can hold its own against the Sony VAIO Tap 20 and Lenovo's jumbo-sized Horizon Table PC. I still outright refuse to believe that Microsoft will enforce an "always-online' policy for the next Xbox.That's not to say that Edge, Kotaku and Paul Thurrott reports are shoddy - all three clearly have inside contacts and, no doubt, have taken care before publishing their information.But there still remains the fundamental problem that "always online" - or at least the interpretation we have of that ambiguous phrase - would be a catastrophic and fundamentally deal-breaking curse of any games console.There's no hyperbole there. Stable and swift internet connections do not blanket the earth, and Microsoft would only be able to effectively sell its next gen system in select regions.That isn't just a haymaker on the chins of Xbox sales team in Redmond; it'd also hurt Microsoft's relationships with publishers and developers who, understandably, want to sell to the biggest global install base possible.Microsoft is simply too smart to let this happen. If there's one thing that defined the Xbox business of the past thirteen years, it is how dazzlingly fast this company learns best practices.By the time the 360 arrived, Microsoft had already understood that going first is immeasurably crucial, that superior system specs are not fundamentally important, that online identities and communities would define a generation, and that ease of use for customers and developers is paramount.If there's one thing that defines the Xbox business, it's how fast this company learns best practicesMicrosoft was overtly cognisant of such conventions just five years into its business.
