  • 7 inch V8880 Android 4.2 Tablet PC VIA WM8880 Dual Core Cortex A9 1.5GHz Review

Hi all, today i have a review of an Android Tablet called the 7 inch V8880 Android 4.2 Tablet PC VIA WM8880 Dual Core Cortex A9 1.5GHz from the gadget selling website Everbuying.com.

First off heres a few pics:

Heres the pic of the box, let me in

The accessories, you get a charger, USB Lead and a USB to Charger slot lead.

Heres the back of the tablet, nice blue colour

Heres the Android 4.2 OS, much more polished than the one on my wifes tablet.

    The Review itself

Like most people these days i cant afford to spend out silly amounts of money for new gadgets and to be honest i would rather wait, paying £500 for an iPad to me is stupid, the new Kindle Fire DX is over £200 too and yes thats too much to pay. I want a tablet that does the job at a price thats right. The tablet known on Everbuying.com as the 7 inch V8880 Android 4.2 Tablet PC VIA WM8880 Dual Core Cortex A9 1.5GHz fits the bill for me.

This tablet costs £41.54 and with free worldwide shipping, they also use airmail which most of the time also avoids nasty customs charges, it does take longer but to ensure a bargain i would rather wait.

So for £41 what are you going to get, well this tablet runs Android 4.2 OS which means its very much up to date, it has a dual core chip, 512mb ram, 4gb onboard memory upgradeable to 32GB.

On with the real review, the tablet is thin and lightweight yet sturdy for what is a cheap tablet in price. The on button is on the side with a volume button next to it, then the Micro SD Slot, a Mini HDMI slot, perfect for watching movies or even playing games on your TV, an headphone port and the USB/Charger Port.

On turning the Tablet on it came straight onto a screen where you unlock the device, good to keep most babies from turning the tablet on. Android 4.2 is a lot nicer than the 2.3 version im used to on my wifes Android Tablet and the touchscreen felt a lot more responsive, to be honest it felt as good as my Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 phone.

First thing i did was connect the wifi and it was a breeze, no connection problems and unlike my older tablet had no problems keeping the connection, looked around the settings and i didnt realise the display could go up to such high settings impressed with that.

I tried the preinstalled Google Maps and the GPS was very fast at finding my location, then i set up a new Google Play account for the wife on it and it was very painless and very easy, all to the good, Google Play loaded up great, downloading and installing was again so easy for me much better than IOS.

I then tried out the cameras and to be honest 0.3 megapixel is only good for photographing say a document or light photography, me personally dont use cameras on a tablet but the only bad point so far.

I then tried out a Video Playing app and also inserted a USB Card into the lead that goes into the USB Slot, the videos played great, as good as any of my other movie playing devices, the volume was low but i presume that headphones are the thing to wear to listen to the movies/music etc.

Next stop was testing the ereader side of things, tried a few crappy ereaders then installed Amazons Kindle app and pleased to say that the resolution was excellent, you do have to sign up to Amazon to get your books or use Calibre if you know how , but rest assured books can be read perfectly at a great resolution.

Next on my list was to try a few games, first game was Star Wars Tiny Death Star, downloaded fast and was very playable with no problems of speed etc although not my cup of tea if im being honest :P

Next up the game Flik kick football and it played fine, some loading but no problems and graphics were great.

Next i wanted to test the browser and wow it was fast loading and i was able to zoom in and out by pinching the screen very easy, the resolution was perfect for reading sites and thankfully my links stayed as they should.

i then wanted to try Youtube, so downloaded the official app and one it installed fast and when watching a movie, this was about Disney Land Paris it was full screen and no problems with streaming, big thumbs up

Battery life seems good too, been on for 5 hours and still fine which is more than the specs say ?

    SO Good Bad or Ugly?

First lets start with the price its a very low £41, now we know your not going to get an iPad for that price but i was blown away by the quality, just because its cheap and by a company ive never heard of its put together very well, it plays media fine, webbrowsers were great, plays most games with no problems, it did struggle with EAs real racing but that was just one, lots of settings to keep folks happy, no wifi connection probs, USB worked great, google play was perfect, my only gripe was the cameras but for £41 its awesome.

If i was going to give it a mark out of 10 id say a 9 out of 10, very happy with it and very happy with Everbuying.com, yes it took a little longer to reach me but no customs charges and the Price is right, plus you get a lot of extras from Everbuying.com if you sign up to the site and buy from them. Right im off to watch some youtube, someone turn the light out
