Driver takes to forums with complaints of white flames lashing across the device.
The Samsung Galaxy S III was launched last month, with pre-orders nearing ten million as buyers eagerly planned ahead to get their hands on the firm's flagship smartphone.
And while the demand may have been hot, a new report from sister title, PCR, says that the device is quite literally fiery.
A S III owner from Ireland, known as dillo2k10, took to forums to complain about the device, which 'exploded' when charging in their car, producing "white flame, sparks and a bang."
Carphone Warehouse apparently ignored its customers cries for help, though Samsung swooped in to save the day with a replacement, as well as additional treats.
Samsung, said: "There have been recent online posts displaying pictures of a Samsung Galaxy S3 that appears to have heat-related damage at the bottom of the device. Samsung is aware of this issue and will begin investigating as soon as we receive the specific product in question.
