According to Nintendo World Report, citing an email from 'Nintendo Customer Service Representative David Marshall', the firm will ditch its current separate shop system to implement a more user-friendly one-for-all approach."A unified account system will be implemented later this year with the launch of the Wii U. Eventually this same account system will be made compatible with Nintendo 3DS systems," said the rep."At this time we have no additional details to offer and nothing to indicate how or if this will work outside the United States and Canada," he added.
They also went on to say that the digital version of New Super Mario Bros. 2 will not be released in Latin America. "The digital format will only be available in the United States and Canada. We have nothing to announce regarding Latin American availability," they said.
We'd hold tight for official confirmation, but were sure hope to see an end to the current split accounts we've endured with Wii, DSi and 3DS so far.
