As you may have seen by now, it looks like the first copies of Gran Turismo 5 are (unbelievably) in the hands of sneaky fans before its proper release, and one of them's leaked the Trophy list. Cheers!

There are a total of 60 trophies to unlock, and all but seven "hidden" trophies have been detailed in the list below.

Activision is expecting Call of Duty: Black Ops to sell around 20 per cent less than last year's Modern Warfare 2, according to guidance released as part of the publisher's financial results last week.

That's the conclusion of Cowan & Company's Doug Creutz, who also suggested that the publisher is being conservative with estimates of non-GAAP guidance between 72-74 cents per share for the full financial year

"This includes an assumption that the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops comps negatively against last year's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, despite the fact that on several pre-release metrics cited by management Black Ops is tracking ahead of Modern Warfare 2," Creutz told investors.

"We think management's guidance implies Black Ops units down roughly 20 per cent versus Modern Warfare 2," said Creutz.

Revising Cowan's guidance to 77 cents per share, Cruetz claimed that "our non-GAAP estimate assumes Black Ops is down 10 per cent versus Modern Warfare 2, so we think management is taking a more conservative stance for guidance purposes."

At the very start of the year, Activision's Mike Griffith said that he didn't expect Black Ops to perform as well as Modern Warfare 2, in part due to tough comparisons.

In August, CEO Bobby Kotick revealed that Activision was pumping more money into the launch of Black Ops than any other game the publisher has released, leading some to assume it expected the game to outsell last year's release.

Another analyst, Michael Pachter of Wedbush Morgan, suggested the game will sell around 13 million units this year, held back by competition, a slower market for boxed product and lower review scores.

"We were somewhat relieved that the company quite clearly stated that it did not model Call of Duty: Black Ops to sell more units than last year's blockbuster title, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2," he wrote.

"Press reports saying that the company expected the "biggest launch ever" were consistently misconstrued, and the company was widely credited with claiming that this year's version of the game would outsell last year's. While it is conceivable that the new version could outsell the last one, we think such a result is unlikely, due to significantly steeper competition, likely overall industry sales declines, and the likelihood that Black Ops will receive a lower Metacritic score than its predecessor.

"This year's game faces competition from holiday sales of Medal of Honor and Halo: Reach, both quite competitive in the shooter genre."

He added: "Notwithstanding our concerns about the likely Metacritic score for Black Ops, we fully expect the game to sell in line or above our estimate of 13 million units, or three million below Modern Warfare 2."

Call of Duty: Black Ops is released tomorrow, with multiple retail outlets opening stores at midnight to begin selling the game to eager fans. There has also been something of a price war, with a variety of game stores and supermarkets offering the game at a heavy discount in exchange for traded-in copies of titles such as Fallout: New Vegas and Medal of Honor.

Microsoft's Kinect has been hacked within a few days of its commercial release, after a company headed up by two MIT graduates offered $2000 prize money to anyone able to prove their success.

Adafruit Industries, which is chaired by Limor Fried and Phillip Torrone, put up the money because its directors believe that the technology used in Kinect is too useful to not be adapted to further uses. Microsoft is understandably keen to prevent that from happening.

"Microsoft does not condone the modification of its products. With Kinect, Microsoft built in numerous hardware and software safeguards designed to reduce the chances of product tampering," Microsoft told CNET in a statement.

"Microsoft will continue to make advances in these types of safeguards and work closely with law enforcement and product safety groups to keep Kinect tamper-resistant."

The prize money, which was doubled last week after Microsoft issued its statement, was awarded after the hackers provided a video which seems to prove that they have bypassed security measures and gained control of the unit's motors. Although the hack has yet to be officially confirmed, Adafruit representatives were satisfied.

"It's amazing hardware that shouldn't just be locked up for Xbox 360," said Phillip Torrone in an email to CNET. "Its 'radar camera' being able to get video and distance as a sensor input from commodity hardware is huge."

Asda has declared Call of Duty: Black Ops will be its biggest games launch of all time.
The supermarket claims it has an unprecedented level of stock for the imminent FPS, which it says far outstrips that of any previously released video game.
“We are putting more stock into store than we have ever done before on a gaming launch, so hopefully no-one will be disappointed,” wrote Asda’s games buyer Alastair Islip on the firm’s Aisle Spy blog.
“Clearly we can make no guarantees but it has been our mission to make sure that we don’t go off sale on COD at launch.”
Asda has decked out the entertainment department of several stores with COD-branded display units, gondola ends and more in preparation of the launch.

Nintendo has dismissed the threat to its business from mobile gaming - claiming that its content is "far in advance" of phone-based rivals.

Speaking on the BBC's On The Money programme yesterday, UK Nintendo chief David Yarnton questioned the fiscal returns on offer for developers from iPhone and other game-playing mobiles.

When asked about the threat mobile gaming posed to Nintendo, Yarnton said: "It's like comparing oranges and apples.

"The content we provide on our handheld gaming is far in advance of what you can pick up for a five minute, ten-minute fix on a mobile phone.

"To some extent, you've seen there have been games [on mobiles] for ages and ages. In our industry there's always been talk about apps and things coming on... I think it's grown and there's so many of them, but the actual business model is yet to be proven to some extent.

"I know a lot of software developers, when they look at their sales on the mobile phone side [they see] it's probably at this stage very marginal."

Yarnton was then asked if gamers were set to move to PC from consoles. (Nope, we don't know where they got that from either.)

However, Yarnton revealed that Nintendo will continue to target non-gamers with Wii - which helps explain the £500,000 Nintendo reportedly paid Dame Helen Mirren to appear in its ads this Christmas.

Yarnton commented: "I don't think the numbers actually show that... over a third of households in the UK own a Wii console... I mean you've got early adopters in any sort of industry and they will buy in early.

"But there is still more people that don't own consoles than there are that do - and that's to some extent where we're looking to expand."

Nintendo has suffered from a significant drop in Wii and DS sales this year.

Nintendo boss Satoru Iwata has admitted that the firm's platform business could be "in trouble" if the Wii doesn't perform well this Q4.

he Symbian Foundation has announced plans to "transition the role of the non-profit organisation".
Which means... what? According to its announcement, the Foundation will become "a legal entity responsible for licensing software and other intellectual property, such as the Symbian trademark".
That means Nokia will take on development of the Symbian OS in-house, although it has promised to make this "available to the ecosystem via an alternative direct and open model".
Still a bit hazy? It seems some Symbian Foundation board members have cut their funding for the platform, judging by executive director Tim Holbrow's statement.
