Stardate 07272010 - The future begins now as Paramount Digital Entertainment announces the availability of the official Star Trek Captain's Log application for iPhone 4. With a flick of the wrist, the Captain's Log app transforms the iPhone 4 into a Star Trek-inspired Starfleet communicator.

Using the Captain's Log communicator, users can capture voice recordings, text entries, take photos and map GPS locations of their voyages as they travel planet Earth. Officers can select their preferred Enterprise class level, whether taking the role of Captain, Engineering, Science/Medical, Enterprise, or assuming the identity an enemy Romulan or Klingon officer.

Users can share their logs with friends on social networks like Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and via email, with other Captain's Log iPhone users, or choose to keep logs as private personal records. To deliver the most advanced Starfleet communicator to date, Captain's Log utilizes iPhone 4 features including front-facing camera, retina display, multitasking capabilities and gyroscope support, showcasing a 3D model of the Starship Enterprise.

The application works with iPhone and iPod Touch devices running iOS 4.

CipSoft releases a new high resolution client for its mobile MMORPG called TibiaME. The new client supports all Symbian S60v5 operated devices.

“We already planned to create a new client in order to fully support devices with bigger screen resolutions,” explains Ben Zuckerer, product manager for TibiaME. “However in order to really make it look great on bigger screens, we decided to completely redraw all of our content as well.” In addition, the new client offers full touch screen support and can be used both in portrait and landscape mode.

Regardless of the installed client (Symbian S60v3, S60v5 or a java client) all players can still login to the same game worlds but only the S60v5 client sports the new high resolution look at the moment. However, the S60v3 will follow shortly so players with older devices are able to enjoy the overhauled graphics as well.

As already announced earlier this year, CipSoft is developing an iPhone client for TibiaME as well. The submission is planned for 1. September 2010. The iPhone client will be distributed for free in the AppStore.

And that’s precisely what Fabrication Games have done with their latest release, which they are confidently predicting is ‘the most wanted iPhone game ever’.

Taking newly released data from The Game Trail, a unique video-based app-discovery app which allows gamers to watch games in action before they buy, Fabrication games have been able to see exactly what it was that most players were searching for. Based on the most popular search strings Fabrication Games came up with an idea for a game.

The resulting title; Free Zombie Hero – Kill Angry War Ninja is now available on the App Store for free.

President of Fabrication Games, Tommy Palm, explains, “I have always been curious to know what games are most sought after and thanks to The Game Trail we now have that data available and we’ve made use of it.”

Obviously Fabrication haven’t been able to combine all of the search terms, both for practical and licensing issues, as Tommy continues to detail. “Basically we saw a challenge in making a game on the request of the search strings. We would have loved to make a Free Mario Zombie game but I am not convinced Nintendo would have appreciated that so much. So we removed all the trademark words from our new game. That way we still got the world’s most sought after game per definition. The entire team was thrilled by the idea and we squeezed in this production on our spare time in parallel to our normal projects.”

De-classifying previously top secret information, Activision Publishing, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI) revealed new details today about Call of Duty®: Black Ops which will be released on 9th November with the confirmation of an all-new companion game for the Nintendo DSTM family of hand-held systems, developed exclusively for the platform by n-Space. Call of Duty: Black Ops for the Nintendo DS will put gamers in the boots of CIA-backed operatives that are dropped into the shadowy world of deniable operations with an expansive arsenal of weapons at their disposal.

Z-Software develops the still unknown game which redspotgames has already announced last week, the Munich-based company disclosed today.

The Dortmund-based Z-Software GmbH already made their mark with the 3D spaceshooter "Doxan" and the internationally well-known "Handball Simulator 2010: European Tournament". It is the first true simulation of the popular ball game on the PC. The company was founded back in 2008, comprises a team of 5 employees and also offers further services such as motion capturing. A couple of freelancers have been involved to the secret project as well.

redspotgames supports the title as a cooperation partner and involves themselves with voice recordings et al. Due to today's website update it was also made public that the first part of the project name contains the word "Solar". Additionally it has been revealed that it's a "3D Arcade Space Shooter". The game offers 11 diversified and action loaded missions and a "Skirmish" mode, that contains a battle area in which the player has to compete against a wave of enemies. You'll find 3D models of the ships attached.

The complete name and target platform will be revealed until end of this week.
