Sony has revealed the UK pricing plan for its new premium iteration of PSN, PlayStation Plus.
PS3 owners will have to pay £39.99 for a 12-month subscription, or £11.99 for 90 days, according to Videogamer.com.
Sony claims that full-year subscribers will receive approximately £200 worth of free and exclusive content, while those who only sign up for three months will receive £50 worth.
The service will launch on June 29th. The UK prices are roughly the same as the European ones, announced earlier today.

EA has pledged significant support for Sony's PlayStation 3, as have a number of major developers under its publishing umbrella. . At the electronics giant's Move and 3D-centric pre-E3 show, the biggest shock was the return of Valve to Sony's fold. The Half-Life and Left 4 Dead developer has long been openly critical of the PS3 as a platform, but demonstrated a dramatic change of heart. Next year, the EA-published Portal 2 will release on PS3 simultaneously with its PC and Xbox 360 versions.

"When the PlayStation 3 was introduced, I was the one of the platform's biggest critics," said Gabe Newell, president and co-founder of Valve. "However, Sony Computer Entertainment has proved that the PlayStation 3 is the most open platform of all the current generation consoles and has worked extremely hard to make the platform the most desirable for consumers and developers. As such, we are delighted to announce Portal 2 for the PlayStation 3 and believe the Steamworks support included will make it the best console version of the game."

The Steamworks architecture, previously used on Valve's PC titles and selected third-party games, offers "auto updates, community features, downloadable content, and more."

EA also promised exclusive content for its upcoming triple-A titles Dead Space 2 and Medal of Honor on PS3. The former will offer an HD version of Wii spin-off Dead Space Extraction, as well as support for the Move motion controller, while the latter will include a remake of 2002's Medal of Honor: Frontlines.

"Medal of Honor has always been characterized by authenticity and reverence for the soldier. That sentiment has never been truer than it is today," said Greg Goodrich, executive producer of Medal of Honor. "Medal of Honor has had a long, dynamic history on PlayStation platforms. We are excited to continue that tradition today with this special edition of Medal of Honor that pays homage to the legacy of the franchise on this platform."

Medal of Honor is due this October, and will be preceded by a beta test open to customers who pre-order and also own of Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Portal 2 and Dead Space 2 arrive next year.

Eurocom, the developer behind the remake of N64 classic GoldenEye, has said that it feels tremendous pressure to deliver a game that lives up to the iconic original from Rare.

The Wii exclusive was officially revealed today as part of Nintendo's E3 conference, and will be a reimaging of the game based on the movie from 1997.

Asked whether the development team feels pressure to create a game that lives up to the brand's heritage, Dawn Pinkney, producer on the project, said "Totally. We can't let the gaming public down.

"You only get one shot to remake GoldenEye. Everybody would kill to be on our position so we take it very seriously," she added.

The title is mixing the old with the new - Daniel Craig is lending his voice and likeness to Bond rather than Pierce Brosnan - and some of the maps credited with proving that first-person shooters could work on a home console, will also be remade.

"It's a modern day Bond and that updates the game, it's got that grittiness to it," said Pinkney. "We've got Statue Park, we've got the tank chase. But we've also updated the game as well. So the Antenna Cradle was originally in Cuba but we've moved it to South Africa in a solar park. We've made it a bit more modern."

Pinkney also confirmed GoldenEye 007 will be released in November.

Online retailer Play.com has become the first to name what it believes the price will be for the UK launch of PlayStation Move.
It reckons the PlayStation Move Starter Pack, which includes a Move controller, PlayStation Eye and starter disc, will cost £49.99. Standalone Move sticks will cost £39.99 and Navigation Controllers £29.99.
The PlayStation eye is already available on the site for £24.99.
Yesterday Sony said that that the European price for the Starter Pack would be €59.99, with stand-alone Move controllers costing €39.99 and the PlayStation Eye €29.99. Navigation Controllers will cost €29.99.
Note too that the US Starter Pack, priced at $99.99, includes a copy of Sports Champions instead of a starter disc.

MCV is chasing Sony for official confirmation of the UK prices.
UPDATE: Amazon has also listed Sony's Move range. It prices the Starter Pack at £10 more at £59.99. It is also selling the PlayStation Eye for just £21.39.

PlayStation Plus has been given a June 29th launch date in Europe, and a new website promoting the paid-for arm of the digital network has revealed some interesting details about what’s on offer.
Chief amongst the functionality is Full Game Trials. This will allow subscribers to download complete PS3 games that can be bought on Blu-ray. They will then have unlimited access to the game for one hour – or thereabouts, depending on the game.
Any Trophies unlocked during that time will be retained once the trial has ended, and in-game progress is saved in case you decide to buy the full game.
The service was announced during the company’s E3 press conference and will cost $17.99 for three months or $49.99 for a full year. MCV reported last month Sony was likely to launch a premium PSN service.
UK prices have not been confirmed (expect to pay £40 for a year and £15 for three months) but Sony reckons users will get free content worth around £200 throughout the course of the first year.

Other membership perks include early access to demos, exclusive beta invites, selected free PSN games and automatic downloads that push anything from patches and firmware updates to full demos straight to the console.
During the first month, Plus subscribers will be able to download the full version of WipEout HD, PSN classic Rally Cross, avatars, map packs and more – and will also be given access to Qore, the PSN video game show.
Subscriptions are free for the first three months and all content downloaded are owned by consumers as long as they maintain their subscription.

The Nintendo 3DS could yet launch some time in 2010, though an early 2011 arrival is now looking more likely, according to sources talking to Eurogamer.
Prior to E3 reports had claimed that the machine could arrive far earlier than expected – maybe even by October, CVG confidently asserted. However, the lack of any launch information as last night’s official E3 reveal seemed to scupper those hopes.
Now a ‘senior source close to Nintendo’ has stated: “3DS will be available worldwide by early next year at the latest, with a 2010 launch in at least one territory likely.”
There’s obviously no word yet on price, either, though expect to pay a healthy premium over the current top-of-the-range DSi XL, which costs around £150 in the UK.

Speaking at the Nintendo press conference currently taking place at E3, the firm's president and CEO Satoru Iwata has claimed that the new 3DS handheld's capabilities will enthuse developers across the games making community.
The device, which Nintendo America president and CCO Reggie Fils-Aime introduced significantly promoting the fact that it does not require glasses, features significantly bolstered graphics and a slider that allows the user to dictate the strength of the 3D effect.
"I can’t wait for you to try this," enthused Iwata. "As you can see, it has two screens and the upper screen has 3.5 inch widescreen display and shows full 3d without the need for special glasses.

"As you know Nintendo produced the first 3d video game 15 years ago and since then 3d has been a contant consideration in our plans. What we searched for awas a way to make 3d games a reality in a mainstream product."

After explaining that the DS successor boasts an improved graphical capability to the DS, Iwata added: "This will cause a lot of enthusiasm in the development community."

The device also features a motion sensor and gyro sensor, touch screen, 3D stills camera, and support for viewing 3D movies.

Orange UK has published pricing and tariffs for the iPhone 4, in advance of the handset's release next week.
Customers will be able to get the 16GB iPhone 4 for free, but only if they sign up for a £75-a-month contract. The price then rises as the tariffs reduce, up to £169 on a £30-a-month tariff.
The 32GB model will cost £29 on the £75 tariff, rising to £269 on the £30 plan. In both cases, the handset price is more expensive on an 18-month contract.
Orange may court controversy with its decision to describe mobile internet browsing as "unlimited*" on its tariff chart.
Why the asterisk? Because a fair use limit of 750MB a month applies to both Wi-Fi and mobile internet browsing.

Not unlimited, in other words. That's not a surprise or particularly outrageous, but we sense it may be time for operators to give up the ghost (and the asterisks) and stop using the 'unlimited' word when it comes to data.
Orange will also sell the iPhone 4 on a pay-as-you-go basis: £480 for the 16GB model and £570 for the 32GB model. That's 19 quid less than Apple is selling the unlocked version of the handset in both cases.
