    Hooka posted this news:

I recently picked up work on the GP2X ports of Freesci, so I decided to give you guys a little tester while I work through my list of "need to do's" for an actual release.

Glutton is the newer, yet more unstable branch of Freesci. It has some nice features, but it maybe impossible to finish games, no savestates, etc.

On the GP2X you have a few different input methods, and you can change between them using select. Please read the README.GP2X for more info. For general freesci info, check the respective versions README.

    You can D/L it here!

Here it is folks, the TIFF image we tested that exploits firmware v1.1.1, giving you full root level file access to your iPhone (without upgrading from v1.0.2) and iPod touch. Before you click the link, note the caveats:

This may open up file system access, but it's not a primetime hack, meaning it's not so graceful as to simplify the installation of AppTapp or anything. Once you get file system access you're kind of on your own to get apps working.
Don't hold us responsible if it damages or bricks your device.
You might be able use this on an unactivated v1.1.1 iPhone from Safari, but it's a hella tricky technique. Good luck with this one! [Via TUAW, thanks Camron!]

Please don't hold us responsible if it damages or bricks your device.
Apple will more than likely fix this vulnerability with v1.1.2, or whatever its next firmware version will be. When that happens we'll all be back to the same spot we were the day v1.1.1 was released. So know this is a temporary technique, unless you're committed to using v1.1.1 from here on out.

We are so not responsible if it damages or bricks your device.
None of this will help the sad reality that iUnlock and anySIM still disable the cell radio in v1.1.1, so use those apps at your own risk once you break on through to the other side.
    Good luck!

The iPhone / iTouch tif exploit is now officially released!
Navigate to http://jailbreak.toc2rta.com using safari to run the exploit.
THIS ONLY WORKS FOR ITOUCH/IPHONE 1.1.1
Don't use the exploit unless you know what you're doing! This will cause you not to be able to sync from iTunes.

You will need to use IPHUC to access the filesystem. This is for experienced users only.

Please note: After navigating to the exploit site, your safari WILL CRASH and you will be returned to the home screen.
This is the EXPECTED RESULT, it means that the exploit executed!

WAIT FOR A TUTORIAL to be released, if you don't know what you're doing.

BeatPhone is a beatbox application for the iPhone, it is in the early stages of development but when finished it should have all the regular features found in a beatbox. Changes for this release are:

    * Added new interface, thanks to “Rasbill” !
    * Reduced to 512 samples latency
    * Samples are now stored in “/var/root/Media/BeatPhone”, currently there’s only one kit : “hiphop”.

The eBook viewer application for the iPhone has been updated to version 1.3. Changes are:
    - Super scrolling! Tap the screen once (as in making the toolbars appear and disappear) and you'll see a slider, which will allow you instantaneous access anywhere in the file. (It also gives a good indication of how far you've read within the file.) Thanks to everyone who requested this.
    - More fonts available from the Preferences pane! Every font on your iPhone, except those known to not work (mostly variants of American Typewriter, at least as of firmware 1.0.2). For a psychadelic experience, try DB_LCD_Temp-Black.ttf.
    - A buttload more text encoding choices. Practically everything available.
    - Change the speed of single-tap scrolling in Preferences! Thanks to Ric Ewing for the suggestion.
    - Tables no longer foul up the screen width. Currently they're rendered as preformatted text. There will be an option to turn this off in later versions.
    - If your book has cover art, it will appear as the splash screen while the book is loading on startup. Remember, put a cover.jpg, cover.png, or cover.gif in your book's folder to take advantage of this. Thanks to tkephart for the suggestion.
    - Added a donate button to the About box. Because you always need more guilt.

Alekmaul has released a new version of his Amstrad 6128 Emulator for the DS called AmeDS, heres the translated whats new/info:

Here the adaptation of a Amstrad emulator for DS!
It is an adaptation, at the beginning, of Caprice32 of Ulrich Doewich (http://sourceforge.net/projects/caprice32/). Then, the emulator followed much modification to try to make it faster, thing to which I am not for the not arrived moment…

    Presentation
Amstrad CPC 464 is a micro-computer of the range Amstrad CPC, with posting colors, comprising 64 KB of RAM, 32 KB in ROMANIAN and using the language Locomotive BASIC 1.0, considered by some impassioned the best BASIC having ever existed.

Amstrad CPC 6128 is an evolution of Amstrad CPC 464 inside the range of Amstrad CPC. It had the same Z80 processor to 4 MHz, but was equipped with 128 KB read-write memory (including 64 KB of memory paginated) instead of 64 KB, and 48 KB read-only memory instead of 32 KB. In more it laid out of a disk drive 3 inches whose capacity could go up to 178 KB per face, much faster than the cassette player, and integrated a language BASIC in read-only memory. It was delivered with diskettes comprising two versions of the utility and operating system CP/M (CP/M 2.2 and CP/M3+) many.

Derived from the CPC 464, the CPC 6128 had in practice less free read-write memory for the user than his predecessor. On the one hand the 128 KB of RAM actually consisted of 64 KB of paginated memory, on the other hand its operating system charged the pilot of the disk drive in addition to the pilot of the cassette player.

And here, I thus deliver the current version of AmeDS to you, the 2.0. It is especially faster than the preceding one but has a less powerful graphic emulation (one cannot all have….).

Franxis has posted a new release of MAME for the GP2X

    - Some GP2X F-100 MK1 consoles do not like the 120hz LCD refresh rate (the screen gets bright).
The 120hz mode is only activated now if the VSync option is activated. Thx, damned, for the report.
    - Other minor optimizations and bug-fixes.
    - Added a new game: Donkey Kong Factory (US) (dkongex). Thanks to Budbud.
    - Integrated the source code of the PSP port done by TTYman.

    News/release from JasonUK

    Hi all
Here is a quick hacked up ELF menu for Pandora.

The idea is to replace ms0:/kd/resurrection.elf on your magic memory stick with this, so the PSP loads it when you insert the Pandora battery + memory stick, and it shows a list of ELFs inside the ms0:/elf folder (it will give a warning and shutdown if the folder doesnt exist or there are no ELFs inside it)

Use D-Pad up/down to choose the ELF you want to run, and press X.

There sometimes seem to be problems if the filename contains spaces or symbols, so use underscores(_) instead. These will be converted to spaces on the menu, so they look nicer

If the ELF fails to run, the screen usually flickers and remains on the ELF menu.
Note: you must use ELFs with this, EBOOT.PBP files are likely to fail (Use PBPUnpacker to extract DATA.PSP from whatever EBOOT you want to run, and rename it to whatever.elf)

Finally, there is a Shutdown option at the bottom.

    Installation:
    - Set up your magic memory stick with Pandora (Team C+D/Prometheus)
    - Set up your magic memory stick with Despertar_cementario v3 (previous versions should work but will be in darkness on the Slim)
    - Make a new folder on the root of the memory stick, "elf"
    - Move ms0:/kd/resurrection.elf to ms0:/elf and any other utilies you want access to
    - Copy the included resurrection.elf to ms0:/kd
    - Use Pandora as normal

Recommended stuff to go into ms0:/elf:
    - The real resurrection.elf from Despertar_cementario v3
    - upNandTool64 by cory149
    - Possibly KeyCleaner/IdStorage Manager, though I havent tested either of these. (Should work as long as you include their PRXs in the "elf" folder, as they load them using relative paths)
    - Any other useful 1.50 kernel tool that you can get to work

If you find any problems, tell me. It's not perfect, but it should have no trouble displaying at least 20 apps.

    Thanks.
    jas0nuk
