    FabreNZ posted this news:

You may remember me as the author of one of the many Sudoku games available on GP32. After the first version release, I began work straight away on the next version, but when I had almost completed it, my GP32 ended up being damaged. After a few months away from the GP32 scene, I have decided to return to support the new GP2X handheld. My first GP2X game will be similar to a certain popular puzzle game... *cough* Bejeweled *cough* ... and it is currently called 'Sententia' (a Latin term relating to thinking). Since the term 'Sententia' is horribly overused (2,210,000 Google results!) I will be finding a more suitable title before it's release. As you can see from the sample screenshots below (rendered on a PC but designed within GP2X's constraints) I have adopted a Mayan theme for this game.

Once I have completed this game, I have some ideas for my next GP2X game that would excite most of you - that's why I will keep the idea 'under wraps' until I am sure it will be completed

Screens below (via the comments) ...

A new magazine for the PSP has been launched in the UK,its called PSPages, heres the info:

The launch issue of PSPages was set back so we could include news on the European launch of the PSP. Originally scheduled for a September 1st launch to coincide with the launch of the PSP, the magazine would have missed out on the chance to cover the launch. By delaying the launch for a week we were able to include reactions from game shops on how they think the launch went. Rest assured that when the mag is available for download, it will feature some of the most honest reviews you are ever likely to read.

    History
PSPages was originally set up to bring gamers in the UK and Europe a downloadable magazine which they can enjoy reading on the PSP. The idea of such "magazines" is not an entirely new concept however we here at PSPages believe we are the first made by European gamers for European gamers. The reason we decided to make one for this particular area is simple. We are all in the UK and/or EU and know what the scene is like within these territories. Also take into consideration the fact that not all games released in Japan and America make it to European shores and you are left with a purpose. We aim to bring you the relevant news as and when it happens.

    Features
Our magazine will feature the latest news, previews and reviews as well as other PSP related stories. You can rest assured that the team behind the magazine has been carefully selected to bring you the most informative and factual information. Here at PSPages, we feel that if a game is poor, then you should know about it. There's no point us giving good reviews for credit if the games are not up to standard. As well as the games, we will also review accessories available for the PSP such as cases, protectors and Memory sticks to help you find the right product when purchasing accessories for your handheld.

Microsoft plans to make its next generation games console, the Xbox 360, as difficult as possible to hack.
The 360 will have security built directly into the hardware, said Xbox engineer Chris Satchell.
Shortly after the first Xbox came out, computer scientists, smart amateur engineers and others started taking it apart and creating modification chips and software for the machine to make it do things Microsoft never intended it to.

With the 360, Microsoft is aiming to make it as hard as possible to hack.
"We've taken security to the hardware level and built it in from the ground up," said Chris Satchell from the Xbox Advanced Technology Group.
"One of the reasons we went with custom hardware design for all our silicon is that it allows us to build security at the silicon level," he told the BBC News website.
"There are going to be levels of security in this box that the hacker community has never seen before."

Part of the motivation behind this is to prevent people from using the 360 to watch pirated films or TV shows.
But Mr Satchell admitted no system was fool-proof and that, with enough time and dedication, the security on the Xbox 360 would be broken.
"There're some really bright people in the world with some really expensive hardware," he said.
"I'm sure sooner or later someone will work out how to circumvent security. But the way we have done the design doesn't mean that it will work on somebody else's machine." ...

Details of the various pricing plans for the Xbox Live service on Xbox 360 have been officially revealed, confirming earlier reports which hinted at a variety of subscription packs with different price points and benefits.

The basic pricing for Xbox Live Gold - as the subscription service is known, distinguishing it from the free Xbox Live Silver service - is $7.99 per month, with a three month subscription priced at $19.99 and twelve months at $49.99.

These subscriptions can be purchased directly through the Xbox Live Dashboard using a credit card, or acquired from retail outlets, and will give users access to play online games and use the matchmaking functions of the Xbox Live service, as well as doing all the things that Silver users can such as voice and text messaging, downloading demos and trailers and accessing the Xbox Live Marketplace.

However, two other more expensive packages will also be launched, which will only be available through retail outlets.

The Xbox Live Premium Gold Packs will be available in three-month and one-year variants, priced at $39.99 and $69.99 respectively. Both packs will include all of the Gold features, along with an Xbox Live headset and access to an Xbox Live Arcade game - Joust for three-month subscribers, and Bankshot Billiards for twelve month subscribers.

Three month subscribers will also receive a $10 mail-in rebate coupon for any Xbox 360 games, and 100 points to spend in the Xbox Live Marketplace, while twelve month subscribers get a $20 rebate and 200 marketplace points.

European pricing for the service has yet to be announced, but is likely to match up closely with the American price points. ...
