Im sure that people who visit here visit other PSP sites and one in particular with its "premium" member (basically a scam to get poor people to cough up 3 dollars each per month to pay for news without ads and forum permissions that every other site are on for free), well this same site has teamed up with LIK SANG (who im sure did not authorise them to use the contest to con people into getting "premium" status via what is a giveaway)

    heres an excerpt:

For each person you refer to the site, you get 1 point. For each person you refer to the site that becomes a Premium Member, you get 10 points! Your own forum account is also counted in the total, so if you are a Premium Member, you automatically have 10 points! For example: If you are a Premium Member you have 10 points. If you refer 20 people and 5 of them sign up for a Premium Membership, you would have a total of: 10+20+50 = 80 points.
So they are using Lik Sangs give away to make a massive amount of profit and con people into sigining up for premium memberships,

Im extremely unhappy with not only this but also the last competition which was open to "Premium members Only"

Its truely a devious way of making people part with money for a competition thats a GIVEAWAY and should be 100% free. Referring members is one thing but 10 points if you get somone to buy a premium member, well it stinks

Im sure you all have comments on this. yet again the real scene is exploited by these people. ...

Syn-Z has released an update to his Megadrive/Genesis emulator for the PSP, heres whats new:

    – Added state saving
    – Several in-game problems improved

    * State Save
    - 1 game can have 350KB for state saving (1 file is 30+KB * 10)
    - States are saved in "STATE" sub-folder with the same fold where the EBOOT.PBP is.
    - When loading state, the sound will be strange. Please bear with it m(_ _)m
    - Contents in SRAM is not included
    - State Slot 0-4, 5-9
[On Memory and MS] : Save into memory when playing, and write to MS when the program exits
[On MS ] : Save directly into MS even playing
[On Memory Only ] : Save into memory only (All date will be lost when program exits)

States are loaded from MS as default. You need to choose which mode to use manually.

    * Increment State Save
The Using of Slot 0-9, 0-4 or 5-9 for saving can be automatically switched. You need to bind this function in the "key config".

Snatcher has released a minor bugfix for Osakanas FMSX emulator, heres whats new:

This minor release of the fMSX emulator simply fixes an omission made by teh guy that originaly ported the emulator. I really wanted to run the MSX Snatcher translation, and I fiddled around with the code. I did port it to PSP SDK, but it crashed again and again.. so I used the original method to test the results and that is what I persent to you.

The modifications where simple, the original author had set the RAM to the maximun possible on the MSX, but forgot to change the variable that holder the RAM size.. so games with higher requirements didn't run.

Some code from first snes9x port on PSP by bifuteki.
unofficial PSPSDK from great ps2dev.org people.

    Thanks must goes to :

    ps2dev.org community : a wonderful job in a olympic record time !

The original authors of snes9x : You all did more than a great job !
Nem for original discovery that started everything.
    All other people supporting us.
Personnal thanks to : smiths, chp, bifuteki.

Important Note about this release :
First, we have decided to release the code of the PREVIOUS version each time we do a new release. So this version source code will be released once we release the NEXT version. The reasons are: People taking our code, add "+alpha nothing" and do not give credit. If you believe your skills are up to the job, contact us.

Control the versions for a while.
Be able to put a splash screen. (See the reason under)

Second, the emulator will have a splash screen that user MUST read to be able to play the games.
    The reason is pretty easy:
Some PSP sites are changing the NFO / ReadMe files to promote OUR stuff as THEIR stuff, So, untalented people earn money through advertising while people doing the hard work get nothing. As a result, to make the things clear, our message is embedded and encrypted inside the emulator.

    Features:

    5 Rendering mode :
    Mode0 : Optimized Snes9x,
    Mode1 : Original Snes9x
    Mode2 : Hardware accelerated (using PSP's GU)
    Mode3 : Adaptive rendering Mode 2 + Mode 1 (default)
    Mode4 : Adaptive rendering Mode 2 + Mode 0
Yes you read well, this version support nearly all the graphics effects of the Snes accelerated with PSP hardware.
    Except : offset mode & mode 7.
Priority and blending are fully emulated.
For the moment a few graphic glitches remain, we did our best for the moment in our knowledge. Please understand.

    Zipped ROM support.
IPS patch file (have to be the same name as game with .IPS extension : SOE.ZIP => SOE.IPS)
    Compressed Savestate with small screenshot.
Auto save of SRAM on game change, exit & Snes reset so you should never lose them ;-).
    Autoskip.
    Gamma correction.
    VSync support.
SDD1 encrypted roms (Star Ocean, Street Fight Alpha 2,...)
    SA1 (slow), SuperFX (slow), C4, DSP1 support.
    Multiple sound frequencies : 22Khz, 32Khz, 44Khz.
Multiple stretching mode with or without smoothing
    Detailed Battery informations.
    222,266 & 333Mhz PSP frequency.
Snapshot based Icon per game. Take a snapshot while ingame (using GUI) & then you'll have it in file browser.

SUPPORT US : We know that only a few people give,
so, everyone of you is important.
This emulator is the result of a lot of free time spent coding!
we could have done more relaxing stuff :-)
(Of course, we love coding too !)
This is a freeware, you do not have to pay for it.
Still, if you really want to support us, please send a donation
Something like 5 euro or 10$ is not a big amount of money but
if it can pay for our PSP expenses or/and the restaurant when
the team member meet each other.
Having a tasty free diner with all the team members is good memories and
this is the kind of thing that will keep our motivation up.

We known that most likely 1 people out of 20000 or 30000 will do a donation.
Don't hesitate, we hope that you will not be the 29999 others.
PAYPAL Account is : [email protected] (If you don't have a paypal account and still want to give us something,

A number of recent stories released on the internet purporting to show images of Nintendo's forthcoming next generation console, dubbed 'Revolution', and its tech demos have been uncovered as fakes.

The first supposed leak was created by a fan on the Newgrounds message boards, who posted he had seen the Revolution controller and that "it's actually not [called] 'Revolution' anymore... the new name is the 'Nintendo RS'."

This was picked up as a news story on blog site Joystiq and described as representing "a component of the Revolution's interface," but the fan who originally posted the information and image later confessed that it was a Photoshopped photo designed to be a joke.

The second 'leak' was speculated to be images from Revolution tech demos in Japan, detailing high quality visuals representing the power of Nintendo's console.

However, it was discovered that these images were taken from a render gallery using Splutterfish Brazil rendering software, with the offending artwork coming directly from its site

    in several examples .

With this most recent information debunked, there still remains no true public representation of Revolution's controller or indeed the visuals it can produce, beyond a modest demo shown at this year's E3. With information still sparse, it is hoped that Nintendo president, Satoru Iwata, will confirm more details about the machine at the forthcoming Tokyo Game Show this September. ...

A Microsoft presentation about the Xbox 360 in Spain has revealed a new peripheral for the console - a miniature keyboard which fits onto the bottom of a standard joypad and allows the use of text messages and chat during play.

Although the company hasn't yet confirmed that the peripheral is genuine, the slide seems quite credible - being one of a lengthy set posted by Spanish website SecretGameZone from the "Campus Party" Xbox 360 event in Valencia.

The mini keyboard, which looks to be around the same size and form factor as the board found on devices such as the Blackberry mobile email terminal, fits in between the two "prongs" of the Xbox 360 joypad.

It will presumably be used to allow users to communicate using text chat over Xbox Live, which has until now been purely the realm of voice chat using the Xbox Live headset, and may also allow users to send text messages outside the Xbox Live system - to users on the MSN Messenger service, for example.

The decision marks a small U-turn for Microsoft; the company had previously declined to create a keyboard peripheral for the Xbox, in a move which was widely seen as an attempt to distance the console from its PC roots. ...

Some great news for Dreamcast Homebrew Developers:

Holly is a 3D engine SDK for the Dreamcast and is build on top of KOS 1.3.x (KallistiOS). It is implemented in C++, with some amount of SH4 assembly. The main developer of Holly3D is Heinrich Tillack. You can get in contact with him via E-mail info(at)tillack.org.

History - from Iris3d to Holly: In 2002 I added Triangle Strips clipping and IMD animation with vertex interpolation to Iris3D V0.7 by Olivier Chatry. Olivier the author of Iris3D included the patches into Iris3D V0.9.1. Which is the last official version of Iris 3D. In 2003 I started to modifiy this C++ code just for fun! Since 2003 I replaced (rewrote) around 95% of the C++ code, so I called the SDK Holly and NOT Iris-3D V2 as I thought before. Too much has changed - compared to Iris3D. I used the modified 3d engine for my own game projects (like DCASTLE). So here it is. Stay tuned for the upcoming release....
