Apart from the obvious facts like a delayed launch, the removal of the PS2's Emotion Engine chip (to reduce production costs) and a higher price tag, it seems the short fall for PS3 owners in Europe continues.

While the US and Japanese Playstation Store's are bursting at the seams with goodies, gamers in the EU are starting to feel rather left out. Being a Friday the store was due it's weekly update and there was a certain sense of excitement about what we could be getting.

Well the store has now been updated and what do we get?

Calling all Cars - Trailer! (not the game like the Jap and US stores have, a TRAILER!)
flOw - Trailer! (I see a pattern here)
    Spiderman 3 - Trailer!

End of update! So we get an update consisting of 3 Trailers! Pretty crap considering the amount of content the other stores are continualy getting. It's like openning your christmas presents to find nothing but socks, a scarf and a hat (actually that would be more exciting)

There's no reason why they can't release the same content on all stores. There are great demo's of games like Ninja Gaiden Sigma on the other 2 stores as well as a host of Playstation games too.

It seems like Sony really could'nt care about those of us in the UK and Europe which is infact quite a sad story.

    DiGG THIS

Please share your opinions on this matter. Are we too moany or are we being given reasons to moan? ...

XSeed Games is finishing up production on Dungeon Maker: Hunting Ground and it is scheduled to come out sometime next month. Dungeon Maker: Hunting Ground is a role playing game for the PSP, but with one significant twist you’re the architect of the dungeon. Players start out by designing the dungeon of their dreams and if the layout is good it will attract monsters for the player to fight. A better layout means stronger monsters, better loot and the chance that the legendary Wandering Demon will appear. The dungeon creation system really is the most interesting part of Dungeon Maker: Hunting Ground and we’re going to get a chance to play interior decorator for orcs and goblins soon. Check back to see our results and if you really need a dreary dungeon to draw in dragons. ...

While it was assumed that Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare would be appearing on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in addition to the PC, it was confirmed today by Activision.

    The developers are obviously excited:

“Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is the most intense, visceral title we’ve ever created,” says Jason West, co-studio head and project lead, Infinity Ward. “The single player campaign is a well-paced, non-stop action experience. As the story unfolds, the player is introduced to new gameplay at every turn – one moment you are fast-roping from your Blackhawk helicopter after storming into the war zone with an armada of choppers, the next you are a sniper, under concealment, in a Ghillie suit miles behind enemy lines, the next you are engaging hostiles from an AC-130 gunship thousands of feet above the battlefield.”

Infinity Ward is also very proud of the technology that will power the game:

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare delivers amazing special effects, including use of depth of field, rim-lighting, character self-shadowing, real time post-processing, texture streaming as well as physics-enabled effects to enlist players into the most photo-realistic gaming experience. Combined with Call of Duty’s award-winning audio design, players will face war as never before.

Activision further revealed that the multiplayer portion of COD4 will be created by a dedicated team within Infinity Ward and that the game will be ready on all three platforms by the fall.

Bring on the throwing stars! “Tenchu Z” for Xbox 360 Goes Gold!

Microsoft calls on ninjas of the nation to unite when “Tenchu Z” hits retailers on June 12

Microsoft today announced that the Xbox 360 exclusive “Tenchu Z” has gone gold and will sneak onto store shelves across the nation on June 12. Rated “M” for Mature, “Tenchu Z” is set to challenge gamers to become the ultimate ninja assassin through more than 50 missions set in ancient Japan and will be available for the estimated retail price of $59.99.

K2, the creative minds behind “Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven,” present the latest installment of the renowned “Tenchu” franchise, “Tenchu Z” exclusively for the Xbox 360. The title is the first mission-based ninja stealth action game for the Xbox 360, and allows players to hone their stealth skills while slaying enemies to become the ultimate ninja. Patience and strategy, with use of the stealth kill system, is rewarded over a run-and-gun style of hand-to-hand combat.

“Tenchu Z” will task willing ninjas to assassinate evil doers, track enemies, rescue hostages and destroy targets using the art of stealth. For the first time ever, gamers can create their own ninja hero with the character customization features that include a variety of face types, hair features, outfits, accessories and more. Gamers can play solo at home or take advantage of co-operative play with two to four players through Xbox LIVE or System Link. Players can work cooperatively for a completely different ninja experience and team up with a friend to complete the missions and take out foes. Let a friend subdue a boss from behind as another runs him through with a katana. Special co-op moves are also available, adding variety and depth to the gameplay experience.

Nintendo announced this week in Seattle several new ways for video game players to connect with one another online.

Though the company leads the worldwide video game industry with the top-selling Wii console and the portable Dual Screen system, it is behind competitors Microsoft and Sony when it comes to online multiplayer gaming.

The fun starts June 11 with the launch of Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree, a game that puts players through a series of fun puzzle exercises designed to increase brainpower. By activating the console’s WiiConnect 24 feature (which requires a broadband Internet connection and a wireless router), players can exchange performance information online and try to best one another’s scores.

It’s not nearly the same level of online activity offered in, say, a 16-player deathmatch in Halo 2 for the Microsoft Xbox. But with the next few games in the lineup, Nintendo will bring more to the table.

Pokémon Battle Revolution, due June 25, is the first title that allows players to link the Wii and the DS. Four players can do battle with Pokémon they’ve trained in the recently released DS games Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl. Four players can battle in the same living room, or, with a broadband connection, they can play online.

Finally, with the July 30 launch of the Wii fantasy soccer game Mario Strikers Charged, players can go online for one-on-one matches and climb regional rankings boards.

The hope is that the online modes in these games are just precursors to what we might see in Nintendo’s AAA properties due later this year. The next Metroid sci-fi game, for instance, would be a perfect opportunity for online first-person shooter matches. And the fighting game Super Smash Bros. Brawl would be a natural online. Nintendo has also promised Wii owners a new Mario adventure game this year. ...
