Analysts Goldman Sach's this week predict that Halo 3 could earn Microsoft such vast piles of cash that the Xbox will be dragged into profitability for the first time ever.

Rumours on the internet suggest that retailer GameStop might already have accumulated a frankly obscene (and therefore unlikely?) four million pre-orders, and with the game due out a the end of September industry experts predict the new Bungie title could deliver 170 million USD in revenue for the quarter. This is based on a prediction of 4.2 million sales - one for every three Xbox 360 systems sold, with analytics expecting worldwide sales to have hit 13.2 million by September. ...

An analyst from the Bank of America has been speaking with Gamedaily, and says that he believes Sony must cut the price of the PS3 by $200 in order for it to maybe recover next year.

    The analyst, Michael Savner, says:

"While Sony could cut the price by $150 - $200, we view that as less likely given that it is already losing approximately $200 per console at $599, based on our estimates ... Offsetting a potential price cut are decreasing production costs, which should improve significantly this year. We estimate that the loss per console could decline to about $50, assuming Sony does not cut its wholesale prices. Bottom line, we don't expect Sony to make up meaningful ground against the Wii this year."

Savner goes on to talk about how the Wii is hurting the industry, because publishers invested in next-gen graphics and tech, and if the Wii continues to dominate then that money will be wasted somewhat. He also comments that Nintendo doesn't play well with third party publishers.

Savner's entire interview seems to lead us to one conclusion - that it's in the best interest of the industry for the PS3 to do well. ...

Sales for Sony Corp.'s Playstation 3 fell to an all-time low in the latest weekly retail sales data for Japan.

Media Create Co. on Fri. reported that the PS3 sold 8,659 between May 14 and May 20. The sales number is below last week's previous low of 8,839 units.

Additionally, no PS3 titles ranked in the top 50 game sales for the week, unchanged from the week prior.

The struggling console is less popular than previous Playstation consoles, including the PSP handheld at 27,505 units and the Playstation 2 at 10,881 units sold in the same period.

U.S. sales figures for the PS3 in Apr. were equally unencouraging, moving only 82,000 units in the month.

Sony this month posted a $563 million loss in the fourth quarter of the fiscal year on PS3 build costs and lower-than-expected sales.

This week it said that it may release an 80GB version of the PS3 hardware to the U.S. and other territories. The new hardware SKU is due for Korea in mid-June.

    Hi All,

For those who haven't seen the previous version, Dropbear is a small SSH2 Server
and Client running on a variety of POSIX-based platforms.
It has been mainly developed by Matt Johnston (see matt's web site).

PSPSSH is a port of the version 0.48.1 to the PSP.

This ssh client gives you a remote access to your PC (if you have a SSH server installed of course),
and you can then enter commands and run scripts as if you were directly in front of your PC.

This software is usefull for linux users who might want to connect to their PC/server
from anywhere using a wifi connection, and then read their mail using text based tool
such as pine, elm or mutt, run text irc client, watch log files, edit configuration files,
    restart services etc ...

    * Change log : *

    What's new in version 1.0.6 :

    - Support IR keyboards !

    * Credits and license : *

The terminal Vt100 emulation part of PSPSSH is based on the work
of Danzel for his Telnet client for PSP.

The IR keyboard support is based on the work of Harald Fielker
(author of the PSP IR Keyboard Library)

This software is distributed under several open-source/free software
licenses, and mainly the MIT/X Consortium License.

See LICENSE.txt file for all details and information about it.

It has been developed on linux for Firmware 1.5 and 3.03-OE, and for the IR keyboard
part it has been tested using a Targus Universal IR Wireless keyboard.

How to use it ? Everything is in the README.txt file.

Thanks to Matt Johnston for Dropbear, to Danzel and Jeff Chen for their virtual keyboard,
thanks once more to Danzel for the VT100 emulation, and thanks to all PSPSDK coders.

Special thanks to Cool Matty and Delight1 for their feedback,
and to Paul and Fanjita who motivated me to add IR keyboards stuff !

    Enjoy,

Those of you wishing to mod their Wii Consoles will want to hurry and buy one as new Wii`s in Japan are now shipping with motherboard changes. This change will stop all the present modchips from being able to work on the Nintendo Wii.

Heres what hacken forums let us know:

It is a latest news from a shop in 188. The latest lots of Wii NTSC-J can't be modded. Why? It's because 3-pins are physically cut from a surface-mounted IC. There are still some Wii NTSC-J unaffected in 188 and Golden, but price will go up soon once this news spreads out and everyone is struggling to be the last one to have it. So hurry if you have not gotten one yourself yet. Of course, if you only play legitimate games, then it doesn't bother you anyway.

Luckily, Wii NTSC-U is not affected yet.

    Heres a screen:

Eke-Eke has released a new version of the Gameboy/Gameboy Colour emulator for the Gamecube and Nintendo Wii, heres the full release information.

GnuboyGX is a port for the Nintendo Gamecube and Nintendo Wii (running in GC mode) of the open-source Gnuboy emulator, originally coded by Laguna and Gilgamesh. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gnuboy

This port is based on the last 1.0.4 CVS source, released by Joshua_ from EFNet #gameboy: http://www.netaxs.com/~gevaryah/gnuboy-1.0.4pre.tar.bz2.

This has nothing to do with the previous GX port for GCLinux, this is a full standalone port using LibOGC API.

    -=[ WHAT'S MISSING ]=-

.RTC Synchro: Here's a note about RTC, taken from original gnuboy's doc:

    Quote:
Some roms, notably Pokemon ones and Harvest Moon, use a realtime clock to keep
track of the time of day even when they're not running. Since gnuboy is just an
emulator, it can't work like a real cartridge and make things like this keep
happening while the emulator is not running. However, it can resync the Gameboy
realtime clock based on your computer's clock when it starts. This is what the
"syncrtc" option does. By default it's enabled. If you disable it, then no time
will seem to have elapsed between when you exit the emulator once and when you
start it again the next time.

    =[ MENU ]=-

Play Game : Run the game you just loaded or return to game

Game Info : Some informations about the ROM

. Load from SDCARD: Roms must be placed in a directory named GBROMS
The maximum number of files per directory is 1000. You can use subdirectories.

Emulator Options: . Scale X, Y: Let you modify the size of the display screen
. Filtering: Gnuboy can filter screen colors to make them look more washed out or faded
like on a real GBC. You can also allow this for Mono GB games by setting the value to "ALL"
. Sprite Sorting: Enable/Disable sprites to be sorted and prioritized according to their x
coordinate when in DMG (Mono GB) mode.
. Force Mono : For GBC games to run in Mono GB mode.
. GBA Features: Unlock gba-only features in some cgb games (See Zelda Oracle's serie)
. SRAM AutoSave/Autoload: this is actually disactivated

    Memory Card Manager:
. SRAM Manager: Let you load/save SRAM and RTC data on the Memory Card
. STATE Manager: Let you load/save Savestate and RTC data on the Memory Card
The size of the created savefiles is variable and depends on the ROM type.

Stop DVD Motor: save the DVD Lens life

SD/PSO reload: if you used SDLOAD to load the DOL, this let you come back to SDLOAD menu

    =[ CONTROLS ]=-

.Z Button let you come back to the menu when playing a game
    .A is Gameboy Button A
    .B is Gameboy Button B
    .START is Gameboy START Button
    .Y is Gameboy SELECT Button

Here it is, my first publicly released program!

Written in and requiring LUA, for your gaming pleasure.

Basically it is an ENGRISH generator. It creates random sentences from word lists and sentence patterns.

It can take a little time to get a good funny sentence, due to it currently having too many words in too few categories. I hope to improve this and other features in future versions.

It can create a very large number of original sentences, many of which should be entertaining if you like Engrish. Be patient and keep pressing generate!

If you find one you like, you can quickly and easily save it to a text file for later viewing and sharing with friends.

Sources: lua.org, engrish.com (for vocabulary ideas), luaplayer.org, and EvilMana's tutes. Thanks guys!! Couldn't have done it so quickly without you!

Please check the included Readme.txt for additional information.

For more information on Engrish, check out: www.engrish.com

Screenshots are from the in-game graphics. I couldn't get my screenshots to take in Lua for some reason.

If I forgot anything, I'll try to update ASAP.
