Cast your eyes over Nintendo's Q2 release list for Wii, DS and GBA which, it has to be said, has some decent games but nothing to go bananas over.

Most notable on the list is Mario Strikers Charged Football, which will be the first online Wii game in UK. We're also really looking forward to Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, with its cool-looking motion control system, the platform-tilting antics of Mercury Meltdown Revolution and the carnage of the Metal Slug Anthology.

Final Fantasy III is the highlight of the DS list, along with N64-remake Diddy Kong Racing. And if you're a Final Fantasy fan you might want to put that GBA slot to good use with Final Fantasy V and VI Advance turning up on the single-screen portable.

UK DS owners will finally be getting Metroid Prime Pinball which came out in the US in October 2005. Harvest Moon DS - another late arrival for Europe - will also land in April.

The TV commercial showed - shock and horror - a car weaving through traffic during a chase scene in a busy city. How will our kids get through this without realizing that it's JUST A GAME?

"We concluded that the ad glamourised street car racing and could be seen to condone dangerous driving," said a statement from the ASA.

Even though the ad is clearly accompanied by the text "Dramatisation. Professional stunt. Do not attempt" the ASA still thought it should be pulled as the words reinforced the sense that events were real and were capable of being copied.

A short response from Microsoft said that the firm is "committed to responsible console gaming" and that they wouldn't intentionally show irresponsible behaviour in an advert. We can't wait for all those Forza or Burnout 5 ads to hit TV land. What then?

We reported yesterday on the first half the interview where the US Nintendo president said he wanted more support from Take Two. The second half of Newsweek's interview has now gone live, where Reggie talks about Metroid among other things.

"Where is Metroid? Metroid is not going to ship by June. We've announced all of our games through the end of June. And the fact with Metroid is we want to make sure that that game is perfect. Unfortunately, Metroid Prime 2 didn't live up to our expectations, it didn't live up to Retro's expectations," he said, adding, that was from a "a sales standpoint".

"I think we were all happy with the product itself. Certainly it won quite a bit of critical acclaim, but the sell-through wasn't what we wanted it to be. We want the sell-through as well as the critical acclaim for Metroid Prime 3: Corruption to be the best in the series, and that's a lofty bar. To do that is taking a little bit more time than we had anticipated. But it's coming. And it will be great."

Following yesterday's news that Sony has docked a fistful of dollars off the US price of PSP, comes an analyst saying that a PSP price cut is just the "shot in the arm" it needed.

Lazard Capital Markets analyst Colin Sebastian clearly welcomes the move and hopes to see a lot more activity surrounding the handheld moving forward. "This is the first formal price cut on the PSP since its launch in March 2005, he said in a report on GameDaily.

Sony now plans support the move with a new marketing campaign aimed squarely at young adults and teens: "We expect a modest step-up in PSP unit sales during an otherwise seasonally slower period for the video game industry. We also believe the potential release of Gran Turismo for the PSP in 2H2007 could further boost unit sales." If GT PSP ever comes pout, we're sure it would sell a couple of units, it's not like you're going to be playing GT5 on PS3 for while is it?

So, in summing up, "It is too early to conclude whether Sony's pricing action will cause game developers to increase the pipeline of new PSP titles; however, several publishers publicly called on Sony to lower the PSP price and broaden the consumer end market. At the new $169 price, we note that the PSP is still $40 higher than Nintendo's DS."

Following a week of rumours regarding a Forza playable demo hitting Marketplace soon, Microsoft has coughed up some official details.

"The rumours this week of a downloadable demo are true and the details on timing will be confirmed in the coming weeks," said the company.

Game Director Dan Greenawalt, "Soon, gamers will get a taste of the raw horsepower the Xbox 360 game engine has provided as we redefine what it means to be a racing simulator with Forza Motorsport 2.

"Whether it's the hundreds of thousands of physics parameters captured from countless man hours taking track measurements and capturing car data to harnessing the power of the industry's most advanced the neural-network search algorithms, non-linear and linear math models as well as AI simulation systems from our Microsoft Research Labs, we've turned mountains of real world raw data into a living, breathing racing simulator where the only difference between the game and reality is that you're not risking life and limb when you hit a wall at 200 mph."

Forza Motorsport 2 is due for release in May. More on the demo as soon as we get it.

A research report has revealed that Nintendo Wii is outselling PS3 more than 2-to-1 in Japan.

The Enterbrain report says that Nintendo has sold 1.95 million units of Wii as of March 25. The console launched in Japan December 2, 2006 last year. Sony, on the other hand, has sold 812,000 of its latest console since November 11.

Bloomberg says that "As the PlayStation 3 loses market share in Japan, it becomes more difficult for Sony to recoup investment in the machine."

If there was ever a time when PS3 needed some killer games to come along, it's got to be now. Especially with reports flying around the web that sales in the UK of the machine have fallen drastically since launch on March 23.

Two Japanese Xbox 360 titles have been picked up by Microsoft Game Studios for release in the US.

Seta Corporation and Game Arts' Xbox 360 shooter Project Sylpheed has been picked up for a US launch by Microsoft. Square Enix holds Japanese publishing rights and Microsoft says the game should be in stores this summer in the US.

Artoon's supernatural stealth game Vampire Rain has also been picked up by MGS. Vampire Rain is also a PS3 title but obviously Microsoft won't be having anything to do with that version. Summer is again the date tipped for a release.

Microsoft UK has yet to release any info regarding potential UK releases of either game.

The column should have appeared in Edge magazine, but as its author explains, "my column has been pulled from the next issue, because it was felt to be too much of a personal attack on a certain individual."

We've had a look as Mr Biffo has posted the entire article on his website and we believe it to be more on the embarrassing side of things rather than a full-on personal attack on the Sony head of studios Phil Harrison.

The story involves Phil Harrison, PS3 and a Marillion gig in Amsterdam. Intrigued? Hit this link for what is bound to be Mr Biffo's most read page EVER!

Best be quick getting a look at these screens, as they've already been pulled from GamePro's website but remain on another for the time being.

Little is known about the fifth installment of Criterion's aggressive racer on 360 and PS3. But we do know it'll be a much more open experience than ever before and the HD Eye Toy and Vision Cam era will play some part in gameplay.

How do we know this? We sat down with director of design Alex Ward, which you can read more about here.

The first screens seem to have been taken from a magazine preview that has since been removed from the host's website. But with the internet being the breeding ground for scanners like it is, you can still find the shots here. Hurry though; we're sure the internet police are closing in...

Original Guitar Hero developer Harmonix has gone solo and teamed up with EA and MTV to develop a brand new music game dubbed Rock Band, that "takes the core premise of Guitar Hero and expands it tenfold".

Jason Booth, programmer on Rock Band, has now revealed that the awesome Guitar Hero II controller on 360 will be compatible with the new title.

"For some reason, IGN posted that Rock Band will not be compatible with Guitar Hero guitars. I thought I'd drop in and let you know that this is not correct," he told the game's official forum.
