A new TV advert for the Xbox 360 version of Grand Theft Auto IV is now showing on Xbox.com.

It's all part of a big old marketing campaign Microsoft is running, said to be on the same scale as the one they did for Halo 3. The new commercial will start appearing on tellies this weekend and you can expect to see lots of ads in the "lifestyle" press.

Xbox UK boss Steve McGill sounds so excited about the whole thing he might be sick, you know because of the graphics and Live and multiplayer and achievements and downloadable content and everything.

"Microsoft sees GTA IV as a fantastic title to showcase how great Xbox 360 is. What with its amazing graphics and gaming experience, coupled with playing with your friends on Xbox Live, achievements and of course the exclusive extra episodic content for GTA IV that will be downloadable this autumn and will only be available on Xbox 360," he said.

"As such you can expect a large awareness campaign from us, showcasing how great GTA IV on Xbox 360 is, and what great value the Xbox 360 console is too."

McGill went on, "Reviews of the game are now coming in and it’s getting a fantastic response, and the press are highlighting how massive the Xbox 360 exclusive downloadable content will be and how easy and great it is to play multiplayer with friends over Xbox Live.

"We’re naturally very excited about GTA IV coming to Xbox 360, we know pre-orders are going fabulously well and we know consumers are extremely excited about all the great things the Xbox 360 version offers." Possibly not as excited as you, sir.

Grand Theft Auto IV is out on Xbox 360 on April 29th. And on PlayStation 3, though McGill didn't mention that. ...

If you're not content to pick up Gran Turismo 5 Prologue in stores on a fancy Blu-ray disc, Sony has uploaded the game on their shiny new PlayStation Network store. The download will set your hard drive back at least 1.9 GB and your wallet $40 (same price as retail).

While not initially available on the PSN version, you can download the intro and ending films at your leisure to view (the latter unlocked only after beating the game, natch). However, a documentary on the series, "Beyond the Apex," appears to be exclusive to the Blu-ray version for the moment. ...

There's still no release date for Unreal Tournament 3 on Xbox 360, but there are some details now on what makes the 360's iteration different from PC and PS3. IGN reports that the Xbox 360 version of UT3 will have five new "exclusive" maps, two new characters and includes two-player splitscreen. It will also contain the free maps available as DLC for the PS3 and PC versions of the game.

Jeff Morris, senior producer at Epic, tells the site he believes UT3 will be a reprieve for those with "tactical shooter fatigue." He stands by the game being an "unabashedly twitch" title. We're expecting more details (maybe even a release date) on the Xbox 360 version of UT3 sometime tomorrow. ...

We find it incredibly hard to believe Atari will ONLY release an Alone in the Dark demo for Xbox 360 but that, officially, is all the firm's saying at the moment.

"No demos have been confirmed for other platforms", an Atari rep told us this morning.

We reported earlier this week that the Xbox 360 Alone in the Dark demo will release around the game's launch time, June 20.

But beyond that, well, the publisher's keeping its lips well and truly sealed.

Alone in the Dark on Xbox 360 is joined by PC, Wii and PS2 versions on June 20. A PS3 version is due later in the year. ...

M-Cid (My Custom IDentity) today we share TriPingColors Complex. As you may know one color (on a screen like the psp) is composed of red, green and blue. The object of the game is simple, you will need to know these three colors proportional to find, as soon as possible and in a certain period of time, the right color and to mark maximum points.

This new version is called Complex, and it is not for nothing, because you must properly adjust the color of each branch of the figure and turns.
For 3 figures made the game a Level climbs.

    1st floor: speed * 1, * 1 time.
    2F: * 2 speed, time / 2. (4 item marked)
    Level 3: * 3-speed, time / 3. (8 point scored)

The current top rated Ikaruga Xbox Live Arcade player has directed a white and black laser beam of hate at the Treasure remake, calling the Arcade version "a horrible port".

The Japanese player, Gamertag Kingoro58k, put up with the port long enough to get to the number one slot, but writes on his Gamertag bio (in Japanese): "The XBLA version of Ikaruga is a horrible port. This isn't Ikaruga, this is Ikaruga LOL."

Apparently, the reason for the Ikaruga XBLA hate (according to the internet) is a number of subtle changes in the Arcade version that have pissed off the hardcore shooter players.

These are changes like different enemy placement from the Dreamcast version, and one of the boss's lasers sping round the opposite way. You can't please everyone.

Read our review of Ikargua, where we say good things about the Treasure shooter, here. ...

Mario Kart Wii has shot to the top of the Swedish multiformat charts replacing Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock, just a week after its release.

Nintendo’s racer was followed by another new title Ubisoft’s Assassins Creed for the PC, the only PC title in the top ten, and Activision’s Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock for the PS2, which dropped two places to number three.

Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock holds the top spot on both the PS2 and Xbox 360 charts and comes in fifth and third on the PS3 and Wii charts respectively.

The PS3, however, has the strongest showing on the multiformat charts taking up four of the top ten places, double the amount of the Wii or PS2.

Assassins Creed topped the PC sales chart knocking World of Warcraft into second place, followed by EA’s Counter-Strike 1: Anthology and World of Warcraft the Burning Crusade. Vivendi and EA dominate the PC charts with four titles each in the top ten.

The top ten multiformat sellers in Sweden follow:

    1. Mario Kart Wii (Wii)
    2. Assassins Creed (PC)
    3. Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock (PS2)
    4. Virtua Tennis 3 (PS3)
    5. World of Warcraft (PC)
    6. Singstar Svenska hits Schlager (PS2)
    7. Super Mario Galaxy (Wii)
    8. Sega Rally (PS3)
    9. Virtua Fighter 5 (PS3)
    10. Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (PS3) ...
