The early reviews for Namco's PSP-exclusive flight game are in, and they're good! The critics have unanimously applauded the game's graphics, sound, music, depth and controls. With such care placed into games like Tekken: Dark Resurrection and the original Ridge Racer, it appears that Namco is quickly becoming the PSP's leading publisher. Let's see what the critics had to say:

Gamespot (82/100) - "Ace Combat X plays surprisingly well on the PSP. Although its visuals aren't quite as slick as in the PS2 installments, it's a remarkably intense action game that you can take with you on the go."
GameBrink (89/100) - "I didn't think I'd see another quality air combat game like it until Namco's eventual PS3 outing but Ace Combat X has arrived to prove me wrong. From the visuals to the audio and the controls, the developers custom tailored the PS2 Ace Combat engine to fit in the PSP's profile. And they didn't just port it; they actually improved on it as if Ace Combat X was the next title in the series and not a portable spin-off."
IGN (87/100) - "Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception makes a spectacular landing on the PSP. It has everything longtime fans of the series could possibly want, along with a few extras they're probably not expecting. Deception also looks great and runs well, offering a near identical experience as what's on the PS2." ...

The biggest PSP release from Korea is to get an International release TODAY , heres some info for those who need it:

    features
    English Version
Contains one new song "River Flow" (composed by Planetboom), not found in the original release

    description
DJing and Bemani fans listen up!

From the Korean game maker Pentavision comes a special PSP™ version of the web-based and mobile music mixing game DJ Max. The game resembles Konami's popular beatmania series: You take the position as DJ and are challenged to hit the correct button(s) on your PSP™ handheld at the right time to complete the song.

As expected from a music game, most parts are completely in English and make DJ Max easy to understand and to pick up for persons without any Korean knowledge. With more than 50 tracks to choose from (including K-Pop, Techno, Breakbeat, Hip Hop, Rock and other popular genres), every music game fan will find a tune of his taste. Lyrics of all songs are included in the game's manual as bonus.

Prior song selection, you will have several options available, such as speed & fader adjustment, mirror mode selection and more. After completion of a song, you will receive a summary of your performance, including a combo & break counter, rating and score.

Your achievements are saved into a Ranking Chart. Additionally, you can unlock new tracks and items in the Gallery Mode.

Depending on the difficulty level, DJ Max can be played in either 4 button (left, up, triangle, circle) or 6 button mode (left, up, right, square, triangle, circle). You can further manually increase the speed with the L/R buttons.

DJ Max contains a number of game modes and extras as listed up below. Be warned that rookies might have their difficulties in the beginning; DJ Max's difficulty level is adjusted to experienced gamers.

    Portable Game Mode

Rookie DJing: Easy difficulty 4 button mode. 10 tracks are selectable from the start.

Pro DJing: Normal difficulty 6 button mode. 11 tracks are selectable from the start.

Club DJing: Expert difficulty 4/6 button mode. Select a music theme and unlock new genres.

Unlimited Mixing Stage: Choose from 40 tracks from the start in either 4 or 6 button mode.

Gallery: Shows your disc collection and a number of images and videos once you have completed parts of the game.

Ranking Chart: Your high scores are saved here.

Options: Adjust settings such as Gear Display (left/center/right), Sound (speaker/earphone), Control Settings & Save Settings

    OST

All 58 tracks that are included on the Collector's Edition double disc soundtrack album are also stored on the UMD. The player includes useful functions, such as random and repeat play. Ideal to chill out and listen to DJ Max Portable's sound on the go.

    M/V Clips

Select from 39 music videos to play back from the start. Here you can sit back and relax and watch DJ Max's music videos without being challenged as DJ at the same time.

DJ Max Portable (International Version) is completely in English and contains one new song.

Stumbled across this PSP stand at Radioshack tonight. It's only $9.95 so I figured I had to try it out...Design is pretty good and the holder actually tillts forward/backwards for good viewing angle. It does have a built in amplifier but I found either the speaker is crap and cann't handle it or the amplifier is just too dirty because at more then half volume it distorts something fierce.

There is a headphone jack in the back, so I ended up plugging my Creative 2-piece speakers into it and they sound 100x better compared to the built in speaker. There is a switch to disable the illumination wich is a must...those blue LEDs are BRIGHT!!! I'd give this unit an 8 out of 10 due to the poor sound quality of the speakers. If the unit didn't come with a headphone jack, it would have been given worse.

This is a pretty decent unit and for $9.95 it's a pretty good bargain compared to the other competition. Check it out on RadioShack's website at http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...entPage=search ...

    News/release from SG57

    Unstuck

    Features:
Fix/Repair Stuck Pixels (possibly dead ones?)
Works by flashing Red, Blue and Green (contain 16 million colors) color'd pixels on each pixel randomly very fast for an extended period of time in hopes of unsticking a stuck pixel.
    Search/Find Stuck Pixels
Works by manipulating the screen in 3 ways: Black, White and Fading. This allows you to look for stuck pixels yourself, any color, thus saving you time since if you DONT have any stuck pixels, you'd be repairing/fixing nothing.
    Very short intro!
All my projects released so far have had quite an intro, this is the first to actually not keep you waiting during the intro.
    Power Tick
This is in the latest version. It is a crucial thing to have in all screen repair apps as it will update the psp, as if a button were pressed, so the screen doesnt shut off.

    Controls:

    Menu:
    Up/Down - Navigate
    X - Run option
    Testing for Stuck Pixels:
    L Trigger - Black Background
    R Trigger - White Background
    X - Fading Background (black->white->black smooth transitions)
    [] - Hide Message Dialog
    Global:
Start - Return to main menu
    HOME - Exit
    Music Note - Screenshot
    Extras:
    Heart-warming exit screen
    Credits (also cool looking)
    'Easy to use' interface
Source Code included (very good for beginners as its commented alot and has alot of useful techniques

    /* UPDATE

Fixed download link + added power tick + optimized some code. Read features for more info.

    UPDATE */

I just hope someone finds this useful as it took me ~4-5 hours to produce (had to break in the middle for food :P)

    Glynnder posted this news/release:

I saw unnecessary RAM usage in this, as the text for the counter and stopwatch were images, I also discovered that the counter could only reach 60 and the timer kind of crashed at some point.

So, I rewrote both of the so they are both unlimited, the counter shows any number, (all from -99 to 999 fit in the 'box') and the timer shows milli's, secs, mins, and hours.

I also put Xandus iCalculator in this.
    Changelog:
    Bugfix
    Added iCalculator
    Freed up RAM
Switched from images to text (keping the file size
    and RAM usage small)
    Completely rewrote Counter
    Completely rewrote Timer
