Weekly Special: Sony's PlayStation2™ horror adventure Rule of Rose at US$ 20.90 only - offer valid for 1 week

From the publisher: England in the 1930s, a small town mesmerized by the rumors and fables spun by children, this is a world that is full of the occult, strange oozing with an uncomforting and chilling dark atmosphere. The player has to control a girl called Jennifer who was thrown into this world and work together with her only trustworthy friend, a stray dog, Brown, to find clues to escaping this world.

With England in the 1930s as the backdrop, and the addition of UFOs, monsters from myths, urban myths, and devilish children's fable elements, this world is like the gathering of all horrifying things Western. Not only the small items, even the trends, lifestyles and others of the time are thoroughly researched and truthfully replicated in the game.

The recording of the voice casting is not scrooged on either, with the employment of England's famous casting producer as the director, and many of the local first line actors and actresses in accent of England of the 1930s, they cover every voice recording from start till end of the game. The attractive character design and music production, and with the high quality CG produced by "Shirogumi" who also made "Onimusha 3", "Genji" and others, the displays of emotions and facial expressions, once regarded as things that CG cannot excel in, but now there is a fine visual experience felt naturally from the player's heart.

Sony's PlayStation2™ horror adventure Rule of Rose is now available at US$ 20.90 only. This is the Chinese language version of the game, which however contains full English voices, combined with traditional Chinese subtitles.

As usually, this weekly special is valid for exactly 1 week (if not sold out earlier) and this time limited to a maximum purchase of 1 unit per customer. As a small restriction, please also notice that you cannot use any further discount coupons along with this special offer.

    News From Lik Sang

Far from a mere re-release, Metal Gear Solid 3 Subsistence is bursting with new content, starting with an entirely new game, Metal Gear Online. That's right, online with either broadband or dial up! At last you can experience the stealth tactical military action with full 8 player battles in a variety of modes. All moves right down to the classic cardboard box disguise are here, and there's no online fees, all you need is the PS2 network adaptor and an internet connection. The full MGS 3 is here too, now with new easier and more extreme levels of play, a new and more dramatic third-person camera system, and a Demo Theatre to spice up your favorite scenes with your choice of camouflage and face paint.

Moving on, Dual Mode lets you take on boss characters, which many believe to be the greatest videogaming has to offer, then there's more Hide-'n-Seek in new levels, all of which are infested with those wacky, brainwashed, slippery monkeys from Ape
Escape. Then there's the secret theatre, and still two more entire full games! Both Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake are here! The game scored an incredible 9.8 on IGN, and with the original MGS 3 game taking up just part of one of the two discs, this is a must have for every fan, whether or not they own last year's hit release (and almost 4 million of you do!). The US edition arrives this week, but if you want the third disc with all cut scenes edited together into a 3 hour movie, sadly this isn't included in the US release, but we do still have stock of the Asian title. ...

New information regarding Sony's PlayStation 3 plans, which could include the pricing, launch date and initial software line-up of the console, is set to be announced in Tokyo tomorrow at a specially convened Sony conference.

Sony today confirmed that the conference, which has been widely rumoured to be the venue for new PS3 announcements since last week, will take place at 3pm local time (6am GMT) in Tokyo tomorrow, and will be open to media and analysts as well as to Sony's publishing partners.

Sony Computer Entertainment president Ken Kutaragi is set to address the conference, which will be the last possible venue for major PlayStation announcements in Japan before SCE's worldwide studios chief Phil Harrison's keynote at the Game Developers' Conference in San Jose next week, and probably the last chance for the firm to reveal PS3 details before its year-end on March 31st.

Although some commentators have suggested that the event may not include exact launch details since it is a relatively low-key conference, Sony can hardly afford to wait until E3 to announce further information regarding PS3, since it has as recently as last week claimed to be sticking to a launch timescale which will see the console appearing in spring.

Other indicators also point to a significant amount of information being released tomorrow - most notably screenshots of a PS3 version of RPG title Untold Legends, which were reportedly set to be released on Wednesday morning but were accidentally revealed a few days earlier. The timing suggests that at least some of the software line-up will get an airing in Tokyo tomorrow.

The current expectation from most analysts and publishers is that the PS3 will launch either in late summer or early autumn in Japan, followed by a US launch before Christmas and a European launch in the first quarter of 2007. ...

    News from Lik Sang:

After a long break those suicidal green haired Lemmings are back! The PSP port, developed by Team 17 of Worms fame, includes all 120 classic levels from the 1991 original, plus 36 all new stages. For the first time you can now also create your own puzzles and have your friends scratching their heads. These can be built as stand-alone stages or level packs, then shared online. Beyond that, further new content and themes has also been promised to come from the official website.

Rather than repeat the disaster of their last major outing, Lemmings 3D, the developers have gone for the 2D gameplay this title requires, while still giving it a 3D graphical makeover and the ability to zoom in and out. Team 17 also improved other areas too, such as mapping the speed up function to a single button, giving you the ability to track a lone Lemming with the cursor, and perhaps best of all, you have five chances each session to skip a level you're stuck on, then you return to it later. The European version is due in soon, while we just received delivery of the Asian version and cleared all pre-orders. Complete with an English manual, the latter goes for the low price of just US$ 34.90, and by ordering today you can feel proud to go along with the crowd. Finally, look out next week for Worms Open Warfare on both PSP and NDS, and yes, it's back in 2D! ...

    News from Lik Sang:

Sequel to the popular PSP launch title, Untold Legends 2 tells the tale of a realm under oppression as a powerful warlord's horrific minions continue to slaughter and enslave the people. While struggling to escape capture and death, some refugees of a secret shape-shifting race stumble upon a carefully guarded secret that rekindles hope for freedom and peace. Anyone up for the challenge will take one of five shape-shifting characters across more than 45 areas packed full of adventure, 40 unique breeds of monsters, and 12 giant bosses.

Looking back to the original, some of those most loved features were two player co-op and four player vs modes, both of which returned here kitted out with an all new macro chat system, an online lobby and match making service. Some of the further improvements include a wider range of quests, more interactive objects, animated cut scenes with voiceovers, multiple control schemes and quick menu options. The US edition arrives this week, and with all PSP games being completely region free, it doesn't matter where you picked up your console from, everyone is welcome on this adventure. ...

    Version 0.09 By SamuraiX

I will now include two versions of BOR. The original Beats of Rage V1.0029
and the NEW OpenBor V2.0045. I suggest to use original BOR for mods that
don't require enhanced features that OpenBOR provides because 333 is needed for smooth video playback. If mod is not compatible with BOR then use OpenBOR. I do plan on upgrading both versions to use GPU in the future, so we can default to 222Mhz on OpenBOR.

Between the both of them you should be able to play any mod.

    Updates:
    -Compatibility with 2.0 TIFF
-New File Logger(BeatsOfRageLog.txt gets created when ever an error occurs)
-Lots of Memory Fixes/stabilizing here and there.
    -Keep version identical to OpenBOR.
-OpenBOR defaults to 333 MHz (Keep Video Smooth) since its much more complex than bor.

    Issues:
-Sleep Mode is not supported Yet.
-OpenBOR Hall of Fame glitch in main menu.

    Usage:
-Place Image directory in the same directory as eboot. And remove original filemenu.png

    Hi, all.
just wanted to announce the release of pMEnc, yet another PMP
maker. it's aimed at beginners who want the high quality videos but
don't want to or know how to use VirtualDubMod/BeSweet/pmp_muxer.

if you use PMPMod, then give it a try. it's an 'early' release, so some
of the stuff like DVD support hasn't been added yet. but, i plan on
doing just that in the future.

here's the link and some screenshots,
    cheers.

    any feedback would be appreciated.
