Question about all of this

I'm looking to buy a modchip for my xbox (which i have no clue how to find the v#). All i care about is playing my backups of my games. and maybe xbox live if possible. I'm a little worried about soldering but i think i can do it. What kind of chip do you guys reccomend for a complete noob.

I don't personally support use of backups for any remotely modern system. You can tell me you're only playing backups of games you own, but statistics are against you there. However, I'll give you some advice. Xbox Live + modchip = banned Xbox. So install a switch to turn it off.

buy a solderless chip from any reputable shops

also we dont permit talk of back ups on this forum. especially as Alexvrb said for modern systems.
