Imported games on UK DS?

Just wanted to make sure that it's possible to play USA games on a UK Nintendo DS before I buy.

Yes, there is no regional lock out, so any games you import will work fine, that includes Jap aswell.

There is one hazy area though, wireless link-up, some games may not work with their UK counterparts on Wi-Fi, so you may not be able to play against your mates, so best not to buy heavily multiplayer games.
