i would say both, but there is a free PSO server made by fans and i think some also got quake3 working.
I have no idea what it takes to set up, but I am wondering why no one has set up new software/servers so that those of us in the dreamcast community would be able to go online once again and play head-to-head games. Is it a software licensing issue or a coding or hardware issue?![]()

quake3 works without modification with the pc version as far as i know. you just have to use the same maps.
If anyone is looking to buy, sell, trade games and support a developer directly at the same time, consider joining Goozex. Enjoy!
I'm not real savvy with this stuff...where would i go/what would I do to meet up with those quake and PSO players?
Check out www.onlineconsoles.com they have a dedicated dreamcast section with PSO, Starlancer, Ferrari F355 and Q3A servers and maybe something more I can't remember.
Anyways they're working real hard to keep the Dreamcast online...
cool...this gives me a reason to get broadband up and running on the DC.
