like cards hold up to 1-gitabits or 1:16 compared to psp

They are 1 gigabits and will hold 128 MB of stuff. That will be plenty though. The gameboy advance games at most are 128 megabits and have 16 MB. Also nintendo may release bigger carts as the system develops. Like with the N64. The only cart available at first was a 64 Megabits or 8 Megabytes and at the end of it they had carts up to 512 megabits or 64 MB. So the DS will start out with bigger carts that the N64 had at its end.
I heard it will also support GBA Game carts...
LOL the DS will not have bigger Carts. Notice how all old systems like 8bits later became a portable system and the carts became smaller its cause they knew how to use the technology better in the system to make smaller carts. So we all know that this portable system will be the same lets not talk about how big the carts are cause they aren't going to be big at all.
How do you know Eric?
As with all systems at first they will use smaller amounts of cart/cd space or fill it with rubbish you dont need.
While i think the PSP will do well because of the Sony Playstation brand name, it will not beat the Nintendo DS because of the fact that the GBA is compatible and Nintendos name with handhelds just defeats any other.
Even if the PSP is more powerful that means jack $#@!.
Looking at previous consoles that were all powerful should tell you something.
Price, software support mean a lot more than just power

They're talking about size, as in capacity.
