You guys are in luck... I've been working on porting the Starscream intel asm version to SH4 asm for the last two months... I'll give a progress report and put a site up soon... 8)

That's difficult to answer before test results. I said it will be faster than a C core but not how much. I hope we can see results soon but, until then, be patient.

I will try to report core progress within a few days.

    Greetings.

If it's 5% to 10% faster then c68k core it would allow full sfx music on neogeo cd i need about 10% This is for over clocking it not for normal speed as it's fullspeed with the curret core with sfx disabled.

Most mame drivers need about 10 to 15% more speed to have proper music TMNT sga for example 10% would be totaly fullspeed 22kh sound. Same for outrun and space harrier. And other's.

Let me know if you get it working well [email protected]

Wouldnt adding a real z80 core for also make the cd sound work?

They already have a real one, its just not very fast and may have other problems. He isn't enabling it because it kills the speed of the emulator. Also, many games have working CD sound without it.

Quzar: Have you heard anything about their project recently?

I thought they said the way they where doing sound without the z80 for cd sound might be the cause of it not working on everygame and just few.
